Julian treated May just like his own little sister, handing her the same bonus he’d given Sophia.

Sophia shook her head with a smile and linked arms with May. “Let’s go, your meeting’s about to start.”

As soon as the three of them stepped into the executive offices on the top floor, Emily came over with a stack of files. She said, “Mr. Roth, Ms. Roth, great news!

“Guess what, I was about to call Everwell International first thing this morning to arrange a meeting with their operations team, but before I even picked up the phone, their assistant called our office and scheduled it for three o’clock this afternoon!”

Sophia glanced at May in disbelief. “So you’re saying they reached out to us first, before we even tried to contact them?”

Emily nodded enthusiastically.

Even Julian, standing off to the side, was clearly caught off guard.

“Sophia, are those materials all set?” Julian asked.

“Don’t worry, Julian. May, Emily, and I already got everything sorted out a few days ago. We were just about to reach out today, but they actually beat us to it,” Sophia replied.

Julian nodded in silence. “Good. You guys get back to work. We’ll go over everything in the meeting later.”

Julian went back to his executive office and dialed someone up.

The call was answered almost immediately.

“Annie said you’re on a business trip?” Julian asked.

Easton had just wrapped up a business dinner and was back at his hotel. It was around nine o’clock at night in Menolia.

“Yeah, just got into Menolia this morning,” Easton replied.

Julian got straight to the point. “Was it you who got Everwell International to contact Crestview Group first?”

Easton took a sip of water and paused. “You figured it out this quickly? Looks like their attempt at keeping it under wraps didn’t work out too well.”

Julian’s lips curled into a faint smile. “So, were you planning to be the unsung hero from the start?”

Easton set his glass down and sprawled out on the couch. “If I stepped in directly, Sophia would never go for it. She’s so stubborn, she’d rather jump through hoops than accept my help. That’s why there’s no need for her to know.”

He was basically telling Julian to keep it under wraps.

“Got it. This time, Crestview Group owes you a favor. We’ll return it when the time’s right,” Julian said.

“I’m sure I’ll cash in that favor eventually. No hurry,” Easton replied.

After hanging up with Julian, Easton immediately called Gordon. “Stay on top of the Crestview Group and Everwell International partnership. If anything comes up, keep me posted.”

“Understood,” Gordon replied.

“And don’t let Sophia find out Everwell International is my private company. Don’t let a word slip,” Easton added. He thought, ‘At least for now, she can’t know.’
