233 Chapter 233
233.Chapter 233
Sophia shot him a look. ‘Ugh, this is all his fault. My beautiful robe is totally ruined; she grumbled to herself.
She opened her mouth to protest, but Easton was already turning away, giving orders to Gordon.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you up to the lounge on the second floor. You can wait there for a bit,” Easton said.
With a resigned nod, Sophia followed him upstairs.

When they arrived at the private lounge on the second floor, Sophia noticed several bottles of medicine on the coffee table as she walked in.
“Are you sick?” Sophia asked, looking puzzled.
Easton nodded. “Yeah, I caught a cold after coming back from a business trip to Menolia.”
Sophia replied indifferently, “Take care of yourself.”
Seeing Sophia so unconcerned, Easton deliberately coughed a few times as he walked into the room, trying to get her attention.
Just then, Gordon knocked and came in with the new dress, only to find every kind of medicine Easton had refused to take that morning now spread out on the coffee table.
‘Didn’t he say he was already better? I haven’t heard him cough all day, so why is he suddenly coughing so much now?’ Gordon wondered.
“Ms. Roth, I’ve brought your new dress,” Gordon said respectfully.
He handed it over to Sophia respectfully.
Sophia smiled warmly at Gordon and thanked him, then took the dress into the other bedroom to change.
Gordon carefully poured a glass of warm water from the bar and handed it to Easton. “Easton, do you need to take your medicine?”
Easton waved him off, then shot Gordon a look, signaling for him to leave.
Gordon instantly got the hint. ‘So Mr. Foster’s just faking being sick to get Ms. Roth to feel sorry for him, he thought, and made himself scarce.
When Sophia came out after changing, she had her robe neatly packed away in a bag.
Easton got up and walked over to her, looking genuinely pleased with how the new dress looked on her, elegant and modest.
“When are you leaving? I’ll drive you home,” Easton said, trying to sound casual.
Sophia glanced up at him, her eyes lingering. “Easton, I’m kind of paranoid about those overseas viruses, so maybe you should keep your distance.”
Easton just stared at her, lost for words.
Talk about shooting himself in the foot.
With that, Sophia grabbed her bag and walked out without so much as a backward glance.
May came back to their spot, only to find Sophia missing. She was about to call her when she saw Sophia walking over, now in a new dress.
“Sophia, what happened? Why the outfit change?” May asked, her eyes full of surprise.
Sophia briefly explained that Easton had accidentally spilled wine on her robe.
After that, she called Julian’s assistant and asked him to come over and help her take the clothes to her car.
“You don’t think Easton did that on purpose, do you?” May asked, eyeing the new dress with suspicion.
Sophia shook her head. “From what I know about him, he’s not that childish.”
May made a face and said, “Honestly, you barely know the guy. That whole year you were married, you hardly spent any real time together, and even since you came back, you two haven’t exactly been close.
“You never really know what someone’s thinking. Maybe he saw you looking way too hot tonight, got worried some other guy would make a move, and decided to messus deseoses so he could get you to change.”

Sophia was speechless. ‘Seriously? That’s somente likas, e die
But that’s just not Easton’s style, no matter how you spin it.

Sophia had zero interest in digging any deeper into that.

May picked up her glass and handed it to Sophia. She said, “Sophia, Julian was just talking to me about work, and then his assistant came over with some updates.
“I happened to overhear, turns out, it wasn’t George who grabbed the Barrington Energy contract. It was his eldest son, Alex, who just got back from Yorkland.”
