Just then, Ryan burst into the hospital room and caught the two of them sitting on the bed, clearly in the middle of something.

‘Damn, I totally crashed Mr. Foster’s romantic scene, Ryan thought.

Ryan instinctively glanced at Easton, only to be met with an icy stare.

“Sorry. Don’t mind me. Carry on,” Ryan stammered, quickly backing out of the room.

With Ryan’s comment, the room got even more awkward. Sophia quickly stood up, her face a little flushed. ‘I’ll go check on my assistant. You guys take your time.”

After Sophia left, Ryan gave a sheepish grin and walked over to Easton. “Hey, don’t blame me. How was I supposed to know you two were up to something in here?”

Easton gave him a sharp look, his face turning serious. “Sophia can’t know a thing about my situation. Not a single word.”

Ryan’s eyes were filled with concern. “Of course, I won’t say anything. But if you keep putting this off, you’re risking your life.

“Just hear me out. Get back to Menolia for electrotherapy treatment as soon as possible. There might still be a shot at recovery.”

Easton’s expression grew grim. “I’ve got my plan. I’ll handle it later.”

Ryan knew there was no way he could talk Easton into it. He’d already checked with the doctor in private, and

for now, things were stable. As long as nothing major happened to him, the odds of a relapse were pretty slim.

Still, just knowing there was a ticking time bomb inside Easton made Ryan anxious as hell.
