Don’t worry.” Sophia let out a sigh of relief as she watched him get wheeled out of the operating room by the doctors and nurses. Easton looked at Sophia and reached out his hand. His voice rough from exhaustion, he asked with concern, “Are you hurt anywhere else? Did the doctors check you over?”

This time, Sophia didn’t pull away. She placed her hand in his warm palm. “I’m fine, really. Don’t worry.”

Once they got to the ward, the doctors and nurses gave Easton a brief update on his condition. Just as the doctor started to talk about Easton’s head injury, Easton cut him off.
