When Sophia got to her car, she found her front tire completely flat. She let out a frustrated sigh and checked the time on her phone.

‘Crap, if I don’t hurry up, I’m gonna be late. And I’ve got a super important meeting today, she thought.

Just as she turned to head back to the elevator, she spotted a familiar figure and froze in her tracks.

Easton was standing just a few steps from the elevator, hands in his pockets, looking effortlessly cool as he leaned against that world-exclusive custom Rolls-Royce Phantom.

That car had been causing a stir in the Grandview Estate residents’ group chat for days. It turned out it was his car.

Sophia didn’t have time to overthink it. She hurried toward the elevator, putting on her best business smile as she walked past him.

“Good morning, Mr. Foster,” she said.

Easton nodded, all business. “Did your car break down?”

Sophia just shrugged, muttering “Yeah,” and kept heading for the elevator.

“I’m leaving now, too. Let me give you a lift,” Easton said.

Sophia turned him down without thinking. “No, thanks.”

Easton walked over, and Sophia looked up, surprised. She fully expected him to do what he always did, just sweep her off her feet and bundle her into the car, no matter how she protested.

But instead, he was unexpectedly polite, his gaze warm and almost disarming.

‘Seriously, what’s going on?’ Sophia thought, completely baffled.

Seeing Sophia’s bewildered expression, Easton felt a secret sense of satisfaction. In his usual smooth, refined voice, he said, “I don’t mean anything by it.

“Didn’t you say we’re just business partners? I’ve got a meeting at the Maritime Authority today, and I’ll be passing by Crestview Group anyway, so I’m just giving a lift to a business partner.”

After he said that, Sophia figured it’d be rude to turn him down, especially since he did save her just a few days

ago.

‘Whatever, I’m running out of time anyway, she thought.

Sophia got into the car with Easton, and Gordon gave her a cheerful greeting. “Good morning, Ms. Roth.”

“Good morning, Gordon,” Sophia replied.

Sophia still wasn’t used to this. Sure, it wasn’t her first time sharing a ride with Easton, but the last two times she’d been totally out of it. Thankfully, at least this was a different car this time.

Just remembering those moments was enough to make her face heat up before she even realized it.

Easton seemed to catch on, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. Not wanting to make things any more awkward, he smoothly switched the topic to work, just to save her from dying of embarrassment.

“I think I understand what you’re getting at, Mr. Foster. I’ll go down to the Southern Development Zone the day after tomorrow to take a look. The proposal might need some adjustments, so I’ll need a bit more time,” Sophia said.

Easton nodded. “Alright.”

After that, they stuck to business; nothing personal came up at all.

Gordon was scratching his head. ‘Did Mr. Foster really go to all that trouble just to get Ms. Roth in the car for a business chat?’ he wondered.
