Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 260

260 Chapter 260

260.Chapter 260

Julian pulled out a file that wasn’t on the meeting agenda and slid it over to Sophia.

Sophia flipped it open, her eyes going wide as she read.

“Julian, you?” Her words caught in her throat.

Julian nodded, his gaze steady and certain.

“When did you two start?” Sophia pressed.

“The year you gave birth to Lucas,” Julian replied.

Sophia looked at Julian, stunned. ‘So when he found me, he also reached out to Julian?’

Sophia’s mind raced. ‘Does Uncle Edward know about this?’

Julian caught the question in her eyes and gently ruffled her hair. “I already told Dad over the New Year holiday. Don’t worry. He took it calmly.

“He regrets what happened back then, and he even opened up to me, saying he promised he’d make it right with them.”

Sophia’s eyes turned red, and it looked like she might cry any second.

Julian patted her shoulder reassuringly and said softly, “Don’t cry. Cheer up. We’re finally getting the family back together, right?”

Sophia nodded.

“So, are you going to be leaving Jenston for some time?” Sophia asked.

Sophia knew this project had been in the works for years, and now she finally understood why a third of Crestview Group’s money had been pouring into that place.

Julian telling her now meant they were finally about to put their plan into action.

Julian’s face grew serious. He was silent for a moment, then finally nodded.

“But this trip could take months, maybe even half a year. Have you told Annie about it?” Sophia asked.

That was what had Julian so quiet. Ever since he and Annie got married, they’d never been apart for this long.

They were still in that honeymoon phase, practically glued to each other. Honestly, he really didn’t want to leave his wife.

But this was the perfect time to make their move. If they missed this chance or things went south, it could mess up the whole Crestview Group. The worst-case scenario? The Roth family could go bankrupt.

No matter how much Julian hated to leave Annie behind, he had to put his feelings aside and go all in for Crestview Group this time.

“Don’t worry. Annie’s a truly supportive wife. No matter what I do, she’ll always have my back,” Julian said.

Sophia knew what Annie was like, and as a woman herself, she knew exactly how tough and anxious Annie must feel right now.

Back then, Easton had left her the day after their wedding. No matter what people said behind her back, Sophia never blamed him, not once. She missed him every day, always worrying about him.

That feeling was still vivid for Sophia.

She sniffled, “Julian, when are you leaving?”

Julian’s voice was low. “Next Monday.”

Sophia wasn’t surprised. With Julian’s usual style, next Monday was basically the most prep time he’d ever given anyone.

After leaving the conference room, Sophia went back to her office, picked up her phone, and dialed the guy in Japoria right away.

When he picked up, his voice was clear and a little husky, with that lazy drawl that always made Sophia’s heart skip a beat. “Darling.”

Sophia snapped, clearly annoyed. “Don’t call me that.”

He chuckled low, knowing she’d figured everything out, but still coaxing her gently. “Don’t be mad. I should’ve told you. That’s on me. But aren’t you the one who knows me best?”

Sophia was still pissed, but knowing his past, she cooled off pretty quickly. Still, she wouldn’t let him off easy. Listen, whatever you two are doing out there, you’d better both take care of yourselves.”

He suddenly got serious, his voice deep and steady. “I will. Wait for me.”

Sophia’s eyes welled up again, her voice catching in her throat.

Sophia whispered, her voice trembling, “Promise me you’ll look after yourself. I’ll be here, waiting for you.”
