Easton nodded. “Make sure my people don’t get too close. If Julian’s guys spot them and Sophia finds out, she’ Il be mad.”

Ever since Sophia’s accident in Redrock City, Easton couldn’t shake the worry that someone might come after her again. So, without telling anyone, he secretly assigned a team to guard her twenty-four seven.

At three in the afternoon, Sophia arrived at Foster Group with Emily. Gordon had been waiting in the lobby for a while.

“Ms. Roth, let me get those for you,” Gordon said, stepping forward as soon as he saw Sophia and Emily walk in, both carrying blueprints.

Once they got to the conference room, the meeting started right away. To Sophia’s surprise, Easton was nowhere to be seen.

‘Huh, that’s odd, she thought, but then shrugged it off.

Someone as important as the CEO of a global company couldn’t possibly keep his eyes glued to every minor project, especially when he had plenty of top-notch people on his team to handle things.

Halfway through the meeting, there was a knock at the door. Sophia had just finished speaking and was still standing when she turned to see Easton walk in, helping Irene into the room.

It had been a long time since the staff at Foster Group had seen Irene, their chairwoman, so as soon as she entered, everyone stood up. The Crestview Group team politely stood up as well.

Gordon stepped forward to help support Irene, but Irene only had eyes for Sophia in the crowd.
