At Jenston International Airport, Sophia had just finished her call with Katherine and was pushing her luggage toward the boarding gate when her phone rang again.

She glanced at the caller ID and smiled. She said, “Annie, I’m about to board. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of myself and Lucas.”

Annie’s voice was bursting with excitement as she said, “Sophia, Julian’s awake!”

Sophia was so thrilled that she could barely contain herself. She turned around, pushing her suitcase back, and called Derrick, telling him to bring the car around.

An hour later, Derrick and Sophia hurried into Julian’s hospital room.

Julian looked pale and weak, just having woken up.

Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes as she walked over to the bed and gently took Julian’s hand.

She said, “Julian, I’m so glad you’re awake. You have no idea how worried we’ve been. Ever since you went missing, and then came back hurt and unconscious, Annie and I have been a mess.

“Annie’s been by your side every day. She’s cried so much that she’s almost run out of tears. And Uncle Edward hasn’t slept well at all these days.”

Julian glanced at Annie, his eyes full of concern. He said, “I’m sorry for making you all worry.”

Then he patted Sophia’s hand and said, “Hey, silly, stop crying. I’m awake, and Derrick is back safe and sound. You should be happy. Go on, let Annie get you a tissue.

“C’mon, you’re making such a face, Derrick and I don’t want a sister who looks like that.”

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh through her tears, took the tissue from Annie, and gave her brothers a playful glare.

Derrick stepped up behind Sophia, his expression serious. He said, “Julian, Nexterra Resources is already in the process of bankruptcy liquidation. The people who hurt you have been arrested and are facing the consequences.

“The plan we’ve been working on all these years was a success. It was tough, and there were a lot of obstacles, but in the end, we came out on top.”

Julian nodded and said, “I knew with you in charge, everything would go smoothly. So, what’s happening with the Keats family now?”

A cold glint flashed in Derrick’s eyes as he replied, “Douglas, the one who framed my father and got him sent to prison, passed away from illness six months ago. Now, his two sons have to take responsibility for all his crimes.”

“Yeah, what goes around comes around. The Keats family did so many shady things over the years: they had it coming,” Julian said.

After Julian and Derrick finished discussing business, Julian turned his attention back to Sophia.

“Annie said you’re heading back to Japoria?” Julian asked.

Sophia nodded.

She said, “Yeah, I was supposed to fly out tonight, but it’s no big deal. I can just book a flight for tomorrow.”

Julian knew all about the recent drama at Crestview Group, but he understood Sophia too well. Sophia wasn’t the type to run away just because of something Edward said.

If she was set on leaving for Japoria, it had to be because something had truly upset her.

Julian said, “Sophia, if you’re feeling worn out and need a break, you can stay here in Jenston. I’ll have someone bring Lucas back for you.

“It took so much for us to finally get the whole family together, and I really don’t want you and Lucas living abroad.”

Sophia lowered her eyes.
