334.Chapter 334
Easton clenched his fists tightly, feeling a wave of frustration. Even Derrick, with all his connections, couldn’t find Sophia.
“Sophia…” Derrick started, but his phone rang out of nowhere. He shot Easton an apologetic glance, stepped aside, and picked up, his voice tense. “Speak.”
A voice reported, “Mr. Foster, two days ago, Ms. Roth was at the cemetery in the western suburbs. I spent two days combing through all the traffic cams in Jenston.
“Finally, I caught her on camera at the gate. She stayed there for a little over an hour before leaving by car. I tried to follow her route, but the coverage out there is pretty spotty.
“After that, she just vanished.”
“Alright, keep digging. Don’t give up,” Derrick said.
When Derrick hung up, looking all serious, Easton rushed over, worry all over his face. “Any news on Sophia?”
Derrick didn’t hide anything. “Yeah, just found out she went to the cemetery in the western suburbs the morning she disappeared.
“She stayed there for a bit over an hour before leaving. After that, the cameras out there aren’t great, so we couldn’t track her any further.”
Easton fell silent, lost in thought.
‘The cemetery in the western suburbs… So, that day, she was at the cemetery, paying her respects to her parents,’ he thought.
Just as Easton was about to leave, Derrick called out to him, “Easton, when Crestview Group was under attack from Weston Group that day, did you have someone backing us up behind the scenes?”
Easton just kept quiet, not giving a straight answer. “If you hear anything about Sophia, just give me a heads up,” Easton said.
For now, Easton put aside everything he felt about Derrick. All he could think about was Sophia, and he just wanted her to come back safe, without doing anything she’d regret.
Whether Sophia chose to be with Derrick or not didn’t matter right now.
Easton didn’t let himself dwell on it any longer. After saying his piece to Derrick, he got in his car and drove off.
Derrick had never thought he’d see the day when the famously proud and untouchable Easton would actually lower himself to speak so humbly to him.
But thinking about it, if Easton really wanted to be Sophia’s husband, he’d have to start showing Derrick some respect sooner or later.
After all, Derrick had been the one taking care of Lucas all these years.
Sophia never left Jenston. After leaving the cemetery in the western suburbs, she went by herself to the villa in the eastern suburbs.
Elmwood Bistro was the only family–run restaurant owned by Maria. Sophia’s parents opened it the year they decided to move back to Jenston from Riverdale.
Every inch of this place was built with Maria’s love and care.
When Sophia was little, she’d often come here with her mom to greet guests, so the walls were covered in photos of her as a child.
The manager of Elmwood Bistro was Edith, her mom’s close friend, whom Sophia had always considered to be family.
Sophia came here not just to get away from all the noise outside, but deep down, she just couldn’t accept the idea that her mom would have ever hurt her dad and even destroyed her happy home.
Seeing Sophia, Edith was honestly shocked. Elmwood Bistro was outside in the eastern suburbs, really far from downtown. And it was not exactly easy to get there. Elmwood Bistro’s business wasn’t what it used to be.
These days, it was mostly just tourists who ha Successfully unlocked! The place was barely hanging on thanks to
some funding from Crestview Group.
The moment Sophia told Edith not to tell anyone she’d come by, Edith instantly knew something serious must’ve happened.

Later, while scrolling through some private gossip chats for the rich and famous, Edith saw people hinting at things in a really roundabout way. She guessed Sophia might’ve found out about what went down with Maria back then.
One afternoon, Edith brought over lunch and sat down right across from Sophia. “Sophia, if you have anything you want to ask me, go ahead now.”
