They couldn’t expose the police officers among them, worried it would set Catherine off. Out of options, Derrick, Paolo, and a few others stepped out.

When Catherine saw it wasn’t the police, she relaxed a little.

She said, “Derrick? Well, look who finally showed up. And where’s Sophia? Why isn’t she coming out? Has she given up on her kid?”

Not wanting to upset her, Sophia hurried out from the side.

When Catherine saw Easton and Sophia coming out from the other side, she laughed. “Good. All the ones who’ ve messed with the Weston family are finally here.”

When Lucas saw Sophia, he burst into tears. “Mom.”

Catherine grabbed Lucas. “Keep yelling, and I’ll toss you down.”

Sophia pleaded, “No, Catherine. Please don’t hurt the child.”

Sophia called out from afar, trying to soothe Lucas, “Be a good boy and keep quiet, okay?”

David cried out, too. “Grandma, please let my Lucas go. He’s scared.”

Catherine gave David a slap. “I’m not your grandma. Don’t call me that.”

Easton stepped forward. “Please, don’t hurt the children. Just tell me what you want. I’ll do anything you say.”

Catherine sneered. “What do I want? I want you all dead. Would you really die just because I asked?”

Then she turned to Sophia. “Wasn’t Nicolas supposed to be here? You said you’d bring him out for me. Where is he?”

Just then, Easton’s phone buzzed with a video call from Ryan. He picked up right away.

“Catherine, take a look. Nicolas is right here in the car. We had to handle some paperwork, so it took a bit longer than expected,” Easton said, angling the phone so Catherine could see.

“Nicolas? Good, they really brought you out.” Catherine grinned when she saw him.

“Mom, don’t worry. You’ll see me soon,” Nicolas reassured her.

Easton caught the perfect moment while Catherine was talking to Nicolas and shot Derrick a meaningful look. Derrick instantly got the message and moved quickly, ready to grab David.

However, Catherine suddenly grew suspicious. Seeing their attempt, she jerked David and flung him toward the cliff

Derrick’s heart nearly stopped as he saw David teetering over the drop. He lunged forward, grabbing David’s ‘collar at the last possible second.

Paolo dashed over to help Derrick pull David back.

Catherine grabbed Lucas and rushed to the other edge of the cliff. “Don’t come any closer. Take one more step and I’ll go down with this kid

Sophia cried out in panic, “No.”

Catherine’s face twisted with rage. “You think you can fool me, huh?”

Sophia’s heart skipped a beat, terrified Catherine might really throw Lucas off in her rage.

She said, “Catherine, I know I’m the one you want revenge on. If you want me gone, I’ll jump right now, Just please don’t hurt my son.”

Easton grabbed Sophia’s hand tightly. “Are you crazy? You can’t just trade your life for him like that.”

Sophia yanked her hand free. ‘Easton, I can’t live without Lucas. I won’t let him get hurt.”

Catherine sneered. “What a saint you are
