“Are you going to go back and see her?” Charles asked.

“No,” Easton said.

He dropped those cold words and walked off without so much as a backward glance.

In the Crestview Group, Sophia had spent the whole morning at her desk, staring at her design sketches, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

She thought, ‘Honestly, it’d be easier to just start over than try to fix these.’

Just then, Emily knocked and walked in. “Sophia, Allison from Foster Group is here.”

Sophia looked up. “Allison?”

Emily nodded.

Sophia remembered that Katherine was bringing her team over for a meeting with Crestview today.

For the Southern Development Project, Sophia was only in charge of interior design now. Derrick was handling all the major construction and environmental stuff. So she didn’t really need to be at the meeting.

“Let her in,” Sophia said.

Allison walked into Sophia’s office and gave her a polite hello.

“Take a seat, Allison. Emily, could you grab us two coffees?” Sophia said.

Once they were settled on the couch, Sophia asked, “Is there something you wanted to talk about, Allison?”

Allison pulled a file out of her briefcase. “These are some documents for phase three of the Southern Development Project. Since they’re planning a large tourist site, the fire department has already gotten back to us and sent over some documents.

“I was coming by for a meeting anyway, so I figured I should bring these over so you could get a head start and it wouldn’t hold up your design.”

Sophia took the file from Allison. “Wow, Allison, you really pay attention to the details. Thanks!”

Allison smiled. “No need to thank me. It’s just part of my job. Ms. Chandler has got so many projects on her plate, so it’s good to help her out a bit.”

After saying that, Allison took a sip of her coffee, stealing glances at Sophia when she thought no one would notice.

Sophia gave a gentle smile, her beauty almost dazzling, making her stand out even more. Allison couldn’t help but feel a surge of envy.

The whole drama about Easton buying out the Quinn family’s entertainment company because of Sophia. It caused a huge stir. Allison had already gotten the full scoop from her contacts.

Easton really did care about Sophia. Now, even a single word against her would get you in serious trouble.

Allison saw that Sophia was totally absorbed in the documents, so she didn’t say a word. Instead, she started quietly observing everything in the office.

Suddenly, Allison noticed a few flyers for a photography exhibition in Greenwich lying on the coffee table. She asked, ” Sophia, are you into photography?”

Sophia glanced up, caught Allison’s gaze, and then looked at the flyers. “Yeah, I’m thinking of going next week,” she replied casually.

Allison picked up one of the flyers, acting all curious, though she was really just fishing for more info. “Looks like it’s not just a photography show. There’s an art exhibition too.”

Sophia gave her a soft, polite smile, not showing much emotion. “Mm-hmm.”
