Sophia stood at the door, stunned for a few seconds. “Wait, you’re saying Easton bought out the Quinn family’s entertainment company?”

“Yeah,” he replied.

Sophia was puzzled, but then she thought it over. She said, “Ryan was involved in this, too, right? So it’s not really because

of me.

“Maybe Ryan just didn’t want to go through with the marriage alliance with the Quinn family, and since he couldn’t step forward himself, he had Easton play the bad guy for him.”

Derrick chuckled softly. “Sophia, where’s that sharp mind of yours?”

It wasn’t surprising that Sophia would think that way. Easton and the Quinn family had always kept their distance. There was no way he would just randomly buy their entertainment company and kick Sylvia out of Jenston for no reason. “Take your time to figure it out. I just happened to know about it and wanted to spill some tea with you,” Derrick said casually.

Sophia stared at her phone, totally baffled.

‘Wait, did Easton overhear something?’ Sophia suddenly thought.

As soon as Sophia walked in, Lucas ran over and gave her a big hug. “Mommy, you’re back! I was just video chatting with Dad, and he was asking why you weren’t home yet.”

Sophia crouched down and hugged Lucas back. “Sorry, honey. There was a lot of traffic on the way home. Did you have dinner yet?”

Lucas nodded. “Yeah, I ate.” •

Later that night, after spending time reading with Lucas, Sophia went back to her bedroom. She grabbed her phone and texted Easton.

Sophia: [Did you check the hotel’s security footage?]

Word was already out in the circle that Foster Group had bought out the Quinn family’s entertainment company. Easton knew it was only a matter of time before Sophia heard about it, so he wasn’t surprised at all.

What caught him off guard was Sophia reaching out to him on WhatsApp first.

Easton: [Yeah.]

Sophia: [You know about May’s family background, right? The Quinn family lost their entire entertainment company overnight, and you kicked Sylvia out of Jenston. I’m worried they might want revenge. No matter what, I don’t want this to affect the Young family or May.]

Sophia was never worried about herself. That was why she reached out to Easton, just to remind him not to push things

too far.

Easton: [Don’t worry. The Quinn family’s main businesses aren’t even in Jenston. After this lesson, they won’t dare stick around here for long. I’ve already got people keeping an eye on them. As for the Young family, Ryan will take care of things.]

Sophia read the message and didn’t reply. As long as this whole thing didn’t affect Forrest or May, that was all she cared about.

Of course, she still trusted Easton to handle it.

Easton sat in the hotel lounge, phone in hand, waiting for Sophia to text back. But she never did.

Charles, with Fiona in his arms, sat across from him. “Easton, what are you doing with your phone all night? Are you waiting for Sophia’s WhatsApp message?”

Easton took a sip of his drink. “Allison will get in touch with you in a few days about the Quinn family’s entertainment company. You handle the legal stuff, and the rest is up to you and Fiona.”

Charles grinned. “Don’t worry, we’ll take care of everything for you.”

Fiona nudged Charles. “What do you mean, ‘we’? Uncle Fletcher hasn’t even agreed yet. Don’t go around saying things like

that.”
