Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 466

466 Chapter 466

466.Chapter 466

“On the surface, it looks like he was just tagging along for a client’s vacation, but I’m not buying it. There’s no way his trip to Haverton was just a coincidence,” he said.

He added, “And getting engaged to Charlotte right after he got back? That’s just to muddy the waters. The whole ‘client vacation’ story is nothing but a smokescreen.”

Fletcher nodded, agreeing with Easton’s suspicions.

Fletcher said, “And those robbers who attacked Mrs. Sophia Foster that day. Turns out they hit several other people, too. The cops say they’re repeat offenders.”

He continued, “I also went back to the village to check on those two villagers. That whole area was bought up by some big Haverton conglomerates ages ago. They’re planning to build a huge entertainment complex there.”

Fletcher concluded, “The real villagers were relocated long ago, so I’m guessing those two were probably arranged by Frank.”

Fletcher finished speaking and pulled a small bag out of his pocket.

Easton frowned. “A mini camera?” he asked.

Fletcher’s face was grim. “Yeah, I found it in the room where Frank and Mrs. Sophia Foster stayed. Not just the camera, either.”

Easton’s face turned stormy, his eyes cold and razor-sharp as he glared at the stuff on the desk.

His voice was like ice, “He wants to drag Sophia’s name through the mud and force her into marrying him just to shut down the gossip.”

Anger filled the office, and Fletcher could tell Easton was barely holding back his fury.

“Mr. Foster, Frank’s tying the knot with the Vaughn family, and they’ve got Mason backing them. As for Frank, there’s a good chance Suncrest Holdings is in his corner,” Fletcher said.

Easton lit another cigarette, his eyes narrowing. “Let’s see just how much trouble they can really stir up.”

After Fletcher left, Easton took a moment to steady himself before calling Sophia.

“Are you done with work yet? I’ll come pick you up,” he asked.

“Not yet. I’m swamped today and have to work late,” Sophia replied.

Easton curved his lips into a smile. “I’ll come keep you company,” he said.

Sophia laughed softly, “Seriously, you should head home. I’ve still got a ton to do.”

Easton didn’t push it. After hanging up, he grabbed his car keys and jacket and left Foster Group.

At Crestview Group, Derrick had just returned from a business trip to Japoria. As he walked into the lobby, he spotted a familiar figure in the elevator.

“Well, well, Mr. Foster, what a rare honor. You’ve truly graced Crestview Group with your presence,” Derrick said with a teasing grin.

Easton ignored him and stepped straight into the elevator. Derrick followed, spotting the takeout bag from Oceanview Club in his hand.

“Bringing food for Sophia?” Derrick teased.

“Yeah,” Easton replied.

Derrick smirked, “Guess I’ll be back in action as your brother-in-law soon.”

Easton liked the sound of that and gave Derrick a look.

Derrick’s smile faded. “Someone’s digging into your business oyer in Windmere. Stay sharp these days.”

Easton’s face grew serious. “Yeah, I know.”

Derrick asked, “Virginia from Suncrest Holdings, is she your mother, right?”

Easton didn’t respond, just kept quiet, and Derrick took his silence as confirmation.

“Sophia’s got some business with her, but I’ve already got Paola on it. You can relax,” Derrick assured him.

Easton glanced over. “Appreciate it.”

Successfully unlocked!

After they got off the elevator, Derrick headed back to his office, while Easton stood outside Sophia’s office and knocked.

466.Chapter 466

“Come in, I didn’t lock the door,” Sophia called out.

Easton pushed the door open, his gaze instantly softening. “Sophia, you bury yourself in work again. You know, that kind of dedication makes it tough for your man to feel needed,” he teased.

Sophia looked up, a hint of surprise and delight in her eyes.

“What are you doing here?” she asked.

Easton walked over to her desk, leaned down, and kissed her gently. “Brought you dinner and came to take my wife home,” he said.
