Replacement Bride Left With His Baby (Sophia and Easton) novel Chapter 465

465 Chapter 465

465.Chapter 465

Sophia was surprised, “Wait, you mean Charlotte Vaughn, the granddaughter of that famous calligrapher, Arthur Vaughn?”

May nodded, “Yeah, that’s her.”

Sophia leaned back in her chair. “If we’re talking family background, the Vaughn family and the Hayes family are pretty well matched. The Vaughn family’s got those academic roots,” she analyzed.

She continued, “But Jackson has always valued business interests highly. Since this is about a strategic alliance, he would likely choose a wealthy family that benefits the Hayes Group.”

She added in confusion, “How could he have arranged for Frank to marry someone without a business background?”

May wagged her finger. “That’s just what it looks like on the surface. Sure, the Vaughn family are all about culture, but Arthur’s got a real big shot of a grandson, Mason Ford,” she said.

Sophia’s eyes lit up. “You mean Mason, the new president of the Jenston Chamber of Commerce?” she asked.

“Exactly. Charlotte and Mason are cousins,” May replied.

Sophia got it now. “So this marriage is basically the perfect combo. We’ll have to congratulate Frank properly when the time comes.”

May took a sip of her coffee and asked, “Sophia, do you think Frank rushed to announce his engagement just days after coming back from Haverton… All because of you?”

Sophia put down her pen. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” she said.

“That day in the village, when you insisted on going with Ryan and the others to find Easton, even though it was risky, I saw Frank’s face turn completely-dark,” May said.

“His eyes were cold, almost intimidating. Not at all like the easygoing guy we used to know,” she added.

Sophia remembered noticing Frank’s mood, too. He was definitely different from the Frank she used to know.

“Sophia, do you think Frank’s gone all villain mode because you kept turning him down, and now he knows you’re back with Easton? Like one of those drama characters who suddenly turned evil?” May teased.

Sophia burst out laughing. She said, “May, you’ve definitely watched too many dramas. We’ve known Frank since our school days. We both know what kind of person he is.”

She added, “I’ve been rejecting him since college. If he was going to turn into a villain, he would’ve done it long ago, not

wait until now.”

Sophia knew Frank used to have feelings for her, but she’d never led him on.

Besides, Frank had already accepted his family’s plan for an arranged marriage. It’s not like Sophia was narcissistic enough to think she could mess him up that badly.

May agreed with Sophia’s logic, but reminded her to be careful.

Sophia nodded, “Don’t worry, I’ll keep my distance from Frank. I genuinely hope he and Charlotte have a blissful life together.”

At Foster Group, Easton had just wrapped up an international meeting and was standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows, smoking.

Fletcher knocked and walked in.

“Mr. Foster,” Fletcher said, his tone respectful.

Easton turned around and gave a slight nod. “Have a seat.”

He walked back to his desk, grabbed the ashtray, and stubbed out his cigarette.

“The bodyguards for Mrs. Sophia Foster started their shifts today. As for Frank, the records show he went to Haverton just to accompany a client’s family on vacation.” Fletcher reported.

He added, “And there’s nothing in his call logs about any contact with Suncrest Holdings.”

Fletcher handed Easton the documents on Frank’s itinerary and his phone call records.

Easton flipped through the documents carefully. “Frank probably has burner phones or other backup devices besides his main cell,” he told Fletcher.
