481.Chapter 481
481.Chapter 481
Sophia slipped into a fresh nightgown in the closet and came out to see Easton lounging on the bed, answering emails on his tablet.
She quietly climbed onto the bed and sprawled herself across him.
Easton set his tablet aside, giving her a half-smile. “Why so bold tonight? Didn’t I satisfy you enough earlier?” he asked.
Sophia gave his chest a playful smack. “I need to talk to you. Can you get your mind out of the gutter for once?” she teased. Easton grinned and hugged her close. “Alright, spill it. What’s up?” he said.
Sophia said slowly, “Rothea Designs is partnering with Bluewave Hotel, which is owned by Charlotte, Frank’s fiancée.”
Easton wasn’t surprised. His team had already reported to him when Charlotte visited Crestview Group to meet Sophia earlier today.
And Fletcher sent him Bluewave Hotel’s info soon after.
“Yeah,” he replied.
Sophia looked up at him. “You don’t mind?” she asked.
Easton’s voice was low, “If I said I minded, would you actually call off the partnership with Bluewave Hotel?”
Sophia pressed her lips together, staying silent..
Easton sighed, “This is your career. I have no right to butt in, and I’ll respect whatever you choose. But promise me, no matter what happens, make sure to look out for yourself first.”
Sophia couldn’t figure out why Easton looked so worried. ‘It’s just a simple business deal. Is it really worth all this worry?’ she thought to herself.
But then she realized his concern made sense. After all, Charlotte was Frank’s fiancée, and Charlotte definitely knew about Frank’s feelings for her in the past.
Maybe Easton was worried Charlotte might try to mess with her behind her back, just like some other women have done before.
Sophia didn’t argue. She just nodded, going along with what he said, “I know.”
Easton didn’t want to get into too much detail about Frank with Sophia, and he’d already told Ryan to keep it from May for
now.
He couldn’t shake the suspicion that the tiny spy cam they’d found in that bungalow in Haverton was something Frank had planted on purpose.
With so little proof, if Easton told Sophia about Frank too soon, they could end up walking right into Frank’s trap. ‘Gotta be careful, he thought to himself.
Frank was clearly trying to provoke them.
After everything he and Sophia had been through to finally be together again, there was no way he’d let someone like Frank mess it up.
He wouldn’t let even the smallest misunderstanding come between them, not a chance.
When it came to Frank, Easton already had everything planned out.
Easton wrapped his arms tighter around her waist, his grip growing possessive, wordlessly telling her she belonged to him.
He gently laid Sophia down and kissed her lips, murmuring, “Sophia, you’re mine.”
The bedside lamp filled the room with a warm, gentle glow, casting soft light over their entwined shadows.
Clothes slipped to the floor, and the whole room was swept up in a haze of passion.
The curtains fluttered softly in the morning breeze. When Sophia woke, it was rare to catch Easton still asleep beside her.
She tried to gently move his arm from her waist, but he only pulled her closer, holding her possessively.
His deep, magnetic voice murmured in her ear, “Stay with me a little longer.”
Sophia turned to face Easton, running her fingers lightly over his face. “We need to get up. We have a last-minute meeting this morning.”
Successfully unlocked!
Easton slowly opened his eyes, gazing into Sophia’s dazzing eyes. Weekends are meant for your husband.”
Sophia smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Easton, did you forget? You’re the one who scheduled this meeting.”
