Easton suddenly remembered Derrick had called him after work yesterday, saying Southern Development still hadn’t settled the final phase, so both companies needed to hold an emergency meeting to sort things out.

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh at the confused look on Easton’s face. It was just too funny.

She leaned in and kissed him, her lips soft and sweet.

“Easton, I suddenly feel like I’m the kind of bad woman who brings down empires. Because of me, the king skips his morning court just to stay in bed,” she joked and smiled.

Easton thought Sophia looked absolutely irresistible right now. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he rolled her onto her back, pinning her beneath him. “It’s still early. We’ve got time for another round.”

Before Sophia could even react, Easton claimed her lips with another possessive kiss.

Time passed quickly.

At Foster Group, Allison learned from Samantha a few days ago that Frank had a one-on-one meeting with Vivian.

It took Allison a while to put the pieces together, but once she did, she had her team in Haverton go over all the micro- cameras they’d installed in the village.

And sure enough, one of them had a tracker hidden inside.

Frank really was hiding deep and not revealing.

Allison had always thought she was the one calling the shots in their partnership, but now she realized that wasn’t the case anymore.

Allison wasn’t too happy about it, but she had to admit Frank was quite the operator.

Samantha told her that Frank had already struck a deal with Easton, and he’d be personally handling things in Windmere

soon.

Allison honestly didn’t care much. When it came to business, she was just there to lend support from the background anyway.

Now that Frank had sided with Vivian, it worked out in her favor. She could free up more time to focus on her own agenda. Allison watched Easton sitting at the head of the conference table. His features were sharp and defined, with a straight nose and deep, intense eyes under long lashes. He just had that untouchable, high-class vibe.

She’d been into him for years, and watching him get back together with his wife, Sophia, seeing them so sweet together. It was agony for her, day in and day out.

Easton tapped his pen on the table. “Allison, any issues with the temporary transfer to Cedarica?” he asked.

Allison snapped out of her thoughts. “No problem, Easton.”

Easton was sending her to the Cedarica research center for half a month, and Rowen had already given her a heads-up the night before.

She didn’t object. Rowen was getting up there in age, and he was all alone out there. It was just two weeks, so she figured it’d be no big deal.

Easton would swing by Cedarica from time to time to check on things, but honestly, Allison thought this was a great chance for her.

With Frank teaming up with Vivian back in Jenston, Vivian wouldn’t really be able to micromanage whatever she did in Cedarica.

After the meeting, Allison was organizing some documents in the conference room when Gordon walked over.

“Allison, Easton said to drop by his office when you’re done,” Gordon told her.

Allison gave a small nod, “Okay.”

Just as Easton finished his call with Rowen, Allison knocked and came in.

“Easton, you wanted to see me?” Allison asked.

Easton nodded. “Have a seat.”

Once Allison sat down, Easton handed her a file

“Go ahead and review it. If any of the terms seem off, just let me know,” he said.

Allison slowly flipped through the file, her eyes scanning the contents. Suddenly, she looked up in surprise. “Easton, what’s with this arrangement?” she asked.

Easton answered in a calm tone, “This was Mr. Steele’s decision. Once you’re done with the work in Cedarica, you’ll be going back to Menolia with him.”
