Sophia wasn’t exactly happy, but she wasn’t so upset that she’d storm out on the spot.

She rushed out of the hospital because there was a problem with the Suncrest Holdings hotel project. Two workers had an accident at the construction site, and Emily called her immediately.

She happened to be in Cedarica, and it’d take her just over an hour to get to Duskspire. A small accident was manageable, but if things got serious, both Crestview Group and Rothea Designs could be in trouble.

Sophia felt pressed for time, so she didn’t bother to tell Easton.

Gordon finished reading the message on his phone and quickly knocked before entering.

“Mr. Foster, Mr. Steele,” Gordon called out.

Easton and Rowen both nodded at Gordon as he came in.

The doctor was just about to change Allison’s bandages, so Easton and Gordon stepped out of the room.

“Mr. Foster, did Ms. Roth just come by?” Gordon said.

Easton paused for a moment, a bit stunned. “Wait, Sophia was here?” he asked.

“Yeah, but she got an urgent call from work and had to rush off,” Gordon replied.

Gordon quickly handed the phone back to Easton. Easton stepped out onto the hospital balcony and tried calling Sophia, but he couldn’t get through to her. Her phone just wouldn’t connect.

Easton frowned slightly and called someone else. “Where’s Mrs. Roth right now?” he asked.

“Mr. Foster, Mrs. Roth is on her way to Duskspire,” the person on the other end replied.

A few of Easton’s men followed Sophia from Jenston all the way to Cedarica. They saw her leave the hospital, hail a cab, and heard her tell the driver she was heading to Duskspire.

They quickly hailed a cab and followed after her.

“Duskspire?” Easton repeated.

“Yeah, we think something went wrong with the Suncrest Holdings project. Mrs. Roth got an urgent call and headed out right away,” one of the men explained.

“Alright, keep an eye on her. There are Suncrest people in Duskspire, but she’s not familiar with the place. I’ll come get her myself later,” Easton said.

“Got it,” the man replied.

After ending the call, Easton returned to stand outside the hospital room.

“Why did Sophia just turn up out of nowhere?” Easton frowned, glancing at Gordon.

Gordon filled Easton in on what Sophia had told him, then pulled up today’s news clip for him to watch.

Easton’s jaw clenched, his face turning grim in an instant.

“How did this news even get out? Didn’t I tell you to get rid of all the reporters’ videos from the scene?” Easton snapped. Gordon explained, “It was just bad timing. City officials were touring the industrial park today, and the city TV crew was tagging along. They happened to catch the chaos when those agents started making a scene at our research center.” The news clip Easton had just watched was indeed filmed from the main entrance.

“Mr. Foster, Ms. Roth might have already seen it,” Gordon said.

Easton’s brow furrowed, and he looked uneasy.

“Let Warren get the car ready. We’re leaving for Duskspire in twenty minutes. You stay here and take care of things,” Easton said.

“Got it, Easton,” the man replied.

Allison wasn’t surprised at all when Easton left. She didn’t care one bit.

About an hour ago, Samantha and Frank each reached out to her.

Frank had already made sure the news got out and handled the ones causing trouble. He paid them well, so they’d keep quiet.

Successfully unlocked!

This whole incident was set up using the agents as amunt. No matter how deep Easton tried to dig, he’d just hit the same wall. Frank simply threw some cash at the agents to make a bigger scene.
