Once the hostesses left, Dexter sat back down. He said, “Mr. Ford, the Hayes family, you, and even Suncrest Holdings are all partners. I respect you because you’re my fiancée’s cousin, but there are lines I won’t cross. Id never do anything to betray Charlotte”

Mason lit up a cigarette, took a drag, and blew out a cloud of smoke. He said, ‘Looks like you really care about Charlotte. That puts my mind at ease.

“I always thought you and Frank were cut from the same cloth, so I kept him out of the loop on a lot of our plans

“But tonight, you’ve really changed my opinion of you. Virginia’s been in Almere for a few days now. Let’s go meet her together tomorrow.”

Dexter and Easton had been working on this plan forever, and Virginia from Suncrest Holdings still hadn’t made an appearance. They kept wondering what was up with that. Virginia was definitely not the patient type.

Hearing Mason’s words, Dexter thought, ‘Mason really is a sly old fox. He’s always holding something back when it comes to me. If I hadn’t come here with Charlotte tonight, he probably wouldn’t have bothered to size me up

Dexter raised his glass in a toast and said, “Alright.”

Just then, the waiter knocked and came in, bringing in another batch of girls. This time, they only settled down next to Mason.

Before long, some of Mason’s business partners showed up in the private room.

Mason was busy entertaining them, so he didn’t have time to keep an eye on Dexter anymore.

A waiter came over to pour Dexter a drink, but ended up spilling a bit on his jacket.

The waiter quickly tried to wipe it off, but Dexter shook his head and declined.

Dexter looked up at the waiter, pausing for a moment.

The waiter, quick on his feet, blurted out, “Sir, I’m really sorry, I didn’t mean to. Please, let me clean it up, or the manager will dock my pay.”

Mason glanced over in their direction and asked, “Dexter, everything alright?”

Dexter took off his jacket and handed it to the waiter. He said, “It’s fine, just spilled a little drink. I’m just having him take it to get cleaned up.”

Mason nodded and said, “Alright, as long as it’s nothing serious.”

While Mason wasn’t paying attention, Dexter leaned in and whispered to the waiter, “The sample’s in the inside pocket of my jacket. Get it to Mr. Grant right away and handle the rest quickly. Ms. Roth needs the results ASAP.

The waiter nodded and left the private room with Dexter’s jacket.

Dexter recognized the waiter as one of Derrick’s men. He’d seen him a couple of times before. Other than Paolo, Derrick had a driver who rarely made an appearance, but Dexter had spotted him at Oceanview Club once or twice.

The waiter took Dexter’s jacket into the restroom, with a bodyguard following close behind. The bodyguard watched as the waiter carefully cleaned the stain off, but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, so he soon left.

As soon as the bodyguard was gone, the waiter fished the sample out of the inside pocket, slipped it into his own pocket, quickly dried the jacket, and returned it to Dexter in the private room: all in under ten minutes. Even though Mason was busy schmoozing with his guests, he still remembered what June had told him earlier. He kept a close watch on Dexter for a good while, but didn’t spot anything out of the ordinary. The hospital update said everything checked out, too.

Mason thought, ‘Guess Dexter’s not the type to mess around.’ He sent June a quick text, telling her she didn’t need to worry.

Derrick was waiting at the airport. Since the nightclub was close by, his guy drove straight over as soon as he

left the club.

Sophia had already figured Mason and June would be extra careful tonight, so she made sure Derrick and his team were in Almere, ready to assist Charlotte and Dexter at a moment’s notice.

In the end, they managed to secure June’s hair sample smoothly. Mission accomplished.
