Dexter had just gotten into the car, carrying Charlotte, when he noticed Mason’s bodyguards trailing after them. Dexter wondered if Mason and June were onto them.

Before leaving, Charlotte had already sealed a strand of June’s hair in a bag, and when no one was watching, she slipped it into Dexter’s suit pocket.

After Dexter helped Charlotte buckle her seatbelt, he turned around, only to be stopped by a bodyguard.

The bodyguard said, “Mr. Hayes, Mr. Ford said he needs to discuss something private with you. We’ll arrange for someone else to take Miss Vaughn to the hospital.”

Dexter glanced at Charlotte and asked, “I need to talk business with Mason. Is it okay if you go to the hospital with them?”

Charlotte nodded and said, “No problem. Your work comes first. It’s fine if they take me to the hospital.”

Dexter nodded and said, “Okay, call me after you see the doctor.”

After sending Charlotte off, Dexter followed the bodyguard back into the hotel.

Dexter knew the bodyguards assigned to Charlotte were always watching her. It wasn’t safe for her to keep the sample on her, so he was relieved she was clever enough to hand it off to him before anyone noticed.

No matter how cocky Mason got, he wouldn’t dare search Dexter. Having Dexter hold onto it was way safer.

When Dexter walked into the private room, Mason noticed how calm he looked and started talking business.

Meanwhile, June was on her phone, telling the bodyguards with Charlotte to watch her closely.

Half an hour later, the bodyguards reported that nothing seemed off with Charlotte. The doctor confirmed it was just a sprain, and her ankle was still a little swollen. June finally relaxed a bit.

June shot Mason a look, letting him know everything was fine.

Dexter took a drag from his cigarette, watching their interaction closely.

After dinner, Mason kept Dexter occupied, but Dexter didn’t rush or show any impatience. He just kept discussing business, acting completely unfazed.

Dexter said, “Mason, don’t worry. The Hayes family and the Vaughn family are in-laws, and with you backing us up, our plan is bound to go smoothly. Once Virginia arrives in a few days, we can officially get started.”

Mason nodded and clapped Dexter on the shoulder. He said, “That’s good. Once Foster Group goes bankrupt and we take out Easton and the Roth family, Hayes Group will be the leading powerhouse in Jenston.

“After that, we’ll be able to run the show in both Jenston and Almere.”

Dexter smirked and replied, “Of course.”

As they stepped out of the hotel lobby, June left under the escort of her bodyguards.

Mason said he wanted to take Dexter out for some fun at a club.

Dexter was tempted to come up with an excuse to get out of it, but seeing how insistent Mason was, refusing would only make Mason suspicious, and the last thing Dexter wanted was Mason putting someone on his tail.

Dexter shot Charlotte a quick message, telling her to head back to the hotel and that he’d get in touch with her later.

Mason took Dexter to the biggest nightclub in Almere, and once they were in the private room, he called in a bunch of hostesses.

He threw an arm around Dexter’s shoulders and said, “Wives are for home and kids, but guys like us? Playing around is just part of the game.” He shot a look at the manager.

The hostesses got the message, quickly settling in beside Dexter and Mason.
