“Shameless b*tch! All she does all day is cling to my Sebastian!”

Evelyn had just picked up her phone to make a call when the door was smashed open by several bodyguards. Ryan strode in first, his face ice–cold. “Ms. Whitemon, Mr. Sterling ordered us to send you abroad immediately.”

“Why would Sebastian suddenly want to send me abroad?! You’re lying!”

Evelyn panicked. I haven’t even started my plan yet! Why is Sebastian sending me away?!

I just got back!

If I don’t get what that man wants from the Sterlings, he’ll absolutely kill me!

Ryan had no intention of explaining anything to her. He signaled the bodyguards behind him. “Get Ms. Whitemon on a plane, right now!”

Seeing the bodyguards step up to grab her, Evelyn’s eyes darted frantically. She dodged their grip in a flash and bolted downstairs.

“Eleanor, save me! Eleanor, please save me!”

Evelyn rushed into Eleanor’s courtyard, only to witness an incredibly heartwarming–and blindingly offensive–scene.

Sebastian was sitting by the table peeling shrimp for Amelia, who was happily scarfing down late–night snacks. Eleanor sat in her rocking chair, watching them with absolute adoration.

What a disgustingly cozy little family picture!

“Seb! I just got back to the country! Why are you sending me away?! Don’t you know those mafia guys will kill me?!”

Evelyn wailed, tears streaming down her face, looking so pitiful it made Eleanor’s heart ache. “Sebastian, what on earth is going on?”

“Eleanor, Sebastian is sending me abroad! I’d rather just die!” Evelyn dropped to her knees at Eleanor’s feet, hugging her legs and sobbing uncontrollably.

“Don’t cry, child. Let Sebastian explain.”

Eleanor comforted Evelyn first, then turned to Sebastian. “Sebastian, are you really sending Evelyn abroad?”

Sebastian nodded, his hands never stopping peeling the shrimp. “Grandma, she made a mistake and needs to face the consequences. Sending her abroad is me being merciful.“

“What mistake did I make?! Or is it just that Amelia hates me and is terrified I’ll get close to you, so she manipulated you into kicking me out?!”

Bang! Sebastian slammed the plate onto the table, his piercing eyes locking onto her. “Do you really need me to air out all your filthy laundry?!”

Evelyn shrank back in terror. Did he find out I drugged Amelia?! Impossible! Didn’t Ace escape from the police station?!

“Eleanor. I swear I don’t know anything! Are you really going to let him kick me out?! Think about back then in the mountains! I dragged you for three whole days and nights! I was covered in cuts and almost died, but I never gave up on you! I saved your life! You can’t just watch me get sent abroad to suffer!”

Bringing up the past made Eleanor feel even more conflicted.

My grandson always has a reason for what he does. Who knows what terrible things Evelyn did abroad these past five years? Otherwise, Sebastian wouldn’t be this furious.

Just as Eleanor was stuck in a hard place, Amelia spoke up.

“You don’t wanna leave, huh?”

Evelyn glared at her with pure hatred. “Who wants to leave their own home?! I’m not leaving!”

“Fine, you don’t have to leave. But the Sterlings don’t run a charity. If you want to stay, you have to contribute.”

“Why should I?! Chloe gets to live here!” And Chloe is barely even a distant cousin!

“Vanessa pays for Chloe’s expenses. Who’s paying for yours? You came back completely broke, right? You’ve already burned through a fortune of my fiancé’s money. You’re not his real sister, so why the hell should we support you?!”

Amelia’s brutal truth–bomb left Evelyn completely stunned. Her mouth hung open, but she couldn’t form a single word.
