For a few short minutes, the entire hall felt like it was suspended in a different century. Aside from the explosive, aggressive roar of the violin, not a single person dared to breathe.
The song ended abruptly. The hall lights snapped back on.
Everyone was still completely trapped in the shockwave of the performance. No one could snap out of it.
Amelia stood on the stage, lowered the violin, and calmly walked down the steps. “Thank you, maestros.”
“Amelia, that was f*cking incredible!” Felix yelled, his jaw practically on the floor.
Felix’s shout shattered the trance. The violin maestro practically leaped out of his seat, his hands trembling as he rushed up to Amelia. “Young lady! You play better than I do! Please, take me as your student! Or wait, I’ll be your student!”
Another master musician shoved his way forward. “You’re a fifty–year–old man, have you got no shame?! Begging a young girl to be her student?! I’m a woman, let me be her junior!”
The two masters didn’t bother with fancy compliments. The fact that they were fighting to be her students was the ultimate, brutal slap to Sophia’s face.
When Sophia finished, these same masters just offered polite, generic praise to kiss up to Nora. But with Amelia, the dynamic completely flipped!
“Ahem!” Nora fake–coughed and walked over awkwardly. “You guys need to back off a little. You don’t want to make Mr. Sterling angry.”
Hearing that, the crowd nervously peeked at Sebastian.
He was sitting casually on a sofa, sipping champagne, chatting with Felix. Since he didn’t seem to be paying them any attention, the crowd collectively let out a sigh of relief.
“Amelia, dear. I’m so sorry about earlier. I spoke way too harshly. Please forgive me.”
Nora grabbed Amelia’s hand, apologizing with a bright, eager smile. “In all my years in the music industry, I’ve never seen anyone play the violin with that much raw power. There’s an international music competition coming up, and I’m officially recommending you for it!”
“Mrs. Vane!” Sophia panicked and sprinted over. “You were just praising me a minute ago!”
Nora glared at her in severe annoyance, her tone turning ice–cold. “Sophia, you have to accept that there are people far more talented than you!”

Watching Sophia’s face turn uglier by the second, Amelia smiled brightly. “Sophia, there’s always a bigger fish. Did you really think playing some basic piano track made you Beethoven? I’ll be taking that hundred million bucks now, hehe.”
Making a hundred million in five minutes? Easiest money of her life.
Sophia thought this piano recital was going to be her big comeback. In her f*cking dreams!
“No! Amelia never touched an instrument growing up! I refuse to believe she played that! It was a pre–recorded track!”
Driven completely insane by jealousy, Sophia started throwing baseless accusations like a madwoman.
Amelia didn’t miss a beat. “So you’re saying Mrs. Vane helped me fake it? Tsk, tsk. Don’t blame the toilet just because you can’t take a sh*t.”
Being publicly accused of rigging the competition instantly destroyed the last shred of goodwill Nora had for Sophia. “Sophia, what exactly are you implying?! Everyone in this room heard exactly how brilliant Amelia’s performance was. And you dare accuse me of faking it?!”
“I didn’t! That’s not what I meant…” Sophia realized she messed up, but it was too late. Nora, who prided herself on artistic integrity, was furious.
“Enough! Since you have such a high opinion of yourself, you don’t need to be here. Get out of my house!”
In a fit of rage, Nora officially kicked her out. Sophia’s face turned ghost white. “Mrs. Vane, Amelia twisted my words on purpose! You’re misunderstanding…”
“Mrs. Vane, Amelia did that on purpose! You can’t let her trick you! Ever since she came back to Kingsley, she lies non–stop and bullies my Sophia! She did this on purpose!”
Seeing Eudora desperately defend her foster daughter by completely dragging her biological daughter through the mud made Nora physically cringe.
After this whole circus, Nora saw the truth. The Bennetts treated Sophia like a goddess, while treating Amelia like absolute garbage!
“Mrs. Bennett, I don’t care about your family drama. I only care that Amelia’s performance was objectively the best. I suggest you get Sophia under control before she completely loses her mind.” Nora said coldly.
Eudora panicked and reached out to explain, but Alexander blocked her path. “Mom! How long are you going to indulge Sophia?! Take her and leave right now!”
