Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 146

CHAPTER 90-2

“And Paige?” She asked so 1Tooked at her.

“Keep doing what I told you. She added.

“Stay careful?” I asked.

“Exactly.” She said as she stood.

“Don’t confront him.” She added.

“I won’t.” I said.

“And don’t let anyone know how much you know.” She said as Jace nodded.

Sarah left without saying anything else and I watched her walk away through the café window.

“So that’s confirmation.” I said as Jace nodded.

“Enough for now.” Jace said and I turned toward him.

“You’re really not going after him?” I asked.

“No.” Jace said.

“Even after what they did?” I asked.

“No.” He said and I studied his face.

He looked angry. He was absolutely furious. But beneath the anger was something else. Control.

“You’ve changed.” I said and he looked at me.

“What does that mean?” He asked.

“Before, you would have gone after him.” I said.

“Before, I didn’t have you.” He said and my heart skipped so he reached across the table and took my

hand.

“I’m not risking everything because I want revenge.” He added and I smiled.

“That’s actually impressive.” I said and he laughed quietly.

“Don’t sound so surprised.” He said.

“I’ve seen you angry.” I said.

“You haven’t seen me angry enough.” He said as I squeezed his hand.

“I don’t want to.” I said.

“Neither do I.” He said.

We returned to the clubhouse later that afternoon, and the evidence was immediately secured. Derek Trade copies, Hunter reviewed the footage and Mason checked the timestamps.

Nobody posted anything. Nobody confronted anyone and the club stayed quiet. That was the strange part. For once, we werent chasing them.

We were waiting. And waiting felt more powerful than I expected.

I spent the afternoon at Lawson Customs, where business had started slowly recovering.

Mia was working through supplier lists and I was repairing a motorcycle when Jace walked through the door so I looked up.

“Any news?” I asked.

“Nothing.” He said.

“That’s good, right?” I asked.

“Very.” He said as I wiped my hands on a rag.

“How does it feel knowing who was involved?” I asked.

“Frustrating.” He said.

“You really want to do nothing?” I asked.

“I want to do the right thing.” He said and I smiled.

“You’re learning.” I said as he stepped closer.

“Don’t get used to it.” He said and I laughed.

He kissed my forehead before walking toward the workshop and for the first time since all this started, I felt like we had some control.

We had proof. We had a name. We had footage and Jace wasn’t going to let anger dictate his next move.

Unfortunately, Victor didn’t share that patience.

Across town, Victor stood in front of a large window while one of his men waited behind him.

“They know.” The man said but Victor didn’t turn around.

“Know what?” Victor asked.

“They identified Tyler.” The man said and Victor’s jaw tightened.

“How?” Victor asked.

“The depot had security footage.” The man said and Victor turned slowly.

“Did Jace retaliate?” He asked.

“No.” The man said and Victor stared at him.

“What did he do?” Victor asked.

“Nothing.” He answered and Victor’s expression darkened.

“Nothing?” Victor asked.

“He secured the footage, but he hasn’t sent anyone after Tyler.” The man said as Victor walked toward the desk.

“He’s supposed to be angry.” Victor said.

“He is.” The man said.
