Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 15
CHAPTER 11-2
The thought settled uncomfortably in my stomach and Charlotte’s smug smile flashed through my mind.
“Dad has been talking to lawyers.”
She wanted me worried but would she go this far?
I honestly didn’t know anymore and part of me wanted to dismiss the idea immediately.
The other part remembered exactly who my sister was and she had spent years turning people
against me whenever it suited her.
She knew how to hurt people without ever leaving fingerprints behind and I folded my arms while
looked at the spray painted wall.
“I’ve got a suspicion.” I said and Trevor looked up from his paperwork.
“Someone specific?” He asked and I hesitated.
“Not someone I can prove.” I said.
“Unfortunately suspicion isn’t evidence.” He said nodding his head.
“I know.” I said.
“And without evidence the insurance company simply treats this as vandalism.” He said.
“Story of my life.” I sighed.
Trevor offered a sympathetic smile before returning to his inspection and I looked around the workshop again.
The broken glass was almost gone and fresh plywood already covered the smashed window.
Someone had even started scrubbing paint from the brickwork.
For people I’d only known a couple of weeks, the Iron Vipers were acting like Lawson Customs belonged to all of them. And I still wasn’t used to that,
By early afternoon the workshop was beginning to resemble itself again.
Fresh sheets of plywood covered the broken window, most of the graffiti had been scrubbed from the brickwork and the piles of shattered glass had disappeared into rubbish bings waiting to be collected. I looked around the yard and shook my head.
“I owe all of you lunch.” I said and Hunter looked up from the ladder he was standing on.
