Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 153

CHAPTER 94-T

The storm arrived before breakfast, and by the time I finished brushing my teeth, rain was hammering against the windows hard enough to make the whole building shake.

I stood in the bathroom doorway, listening to the thunder rolling across town, and for once, the sound didn’t immediately make me think about danger.

It was just a storm.

I showered quickly, pulled on an old pair of jeans and a thick sweatshirt, and headed downstairs with my hair still damp.

Mia was already behind the counter, staring through the front windows.

“This isn’t slowing down.” Mia said as I walked beside her.

“No, it isn’t.” I said.

Rain poured across the street, and water was already gathering along the gutters.

“We might as well close.” I said and Mia nodded.

“I think that’s a good idea.” She said.

Before we could do anything else, a loud drip landed on the counter and we both looked down. Another drop hit the floor and then another and Mia slowly looked upward.

“That’s not good.” Mia said as I followed her gaze.

A small stream of water was coming through the ceiling.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” I said as another drip landed beside my shoe.

“Get the buckets.” I said as Mia laughed.

“I’ll get the buckets.” Mia said.

Within ten minutes, we had three containers beneath the leaks, but the rain continued pounding against the roof.

I grabbed a ladder and climbed up toward the storage area.

“Paige, be careful.” Mia said.

“I’m fine.” I said.

I pushed aside one of the ceiling panels and immediately saw water running along the beams.

“We’ve got a bigger problem.” I said as Mia looked up.

“How big?” She asked.

“Big enough that I’m not fixing this alone.” I said as she pulled out her phone.

CHAPTER 34-4–

I’m calling Jace.” She said.

“No. I said.

“Why not?” She asked.

“Because he doesn’t need another problem.” I said as Mia stared at me.

“That’s exactly what he needs to know.” She said.

Before I could argue, she had already called him and twenty minutes later, the front doors opened and Jace walked inside wearing a rain jacket.

Behind him came Mason, Derek, Hunter and several other Iron Vipers.

“I said I wasn’t calling anyone.” I said but Mason grinned.

“You didn’t.” Mason said.

“Then why are you here?” I asked.

“Because Mia did.” He said and I looked toward her so she shrugged.

“I knew they’d come.” Mia said as Jace walked over.

“Where’s the damage?” Jace asked and I pointed upward.

“The roof.” I said so he looked toward the ceiling.

“How bad?” He asked.

“Bad.” I said and he smiled.

“Then we’ll fix it.” He said and I crossed my arms.

“You don’t have to.” I said.

“We know.” He said as he kissed my forehead.

“Move.” He said and I laughed.

“Bossy.” I said.

“Determined.” He said.

“You stole my word.” I said.

“You’re welcome.” He said.

Within minutes, the entire garage became organized chaos.

Someone brought ladders. Someone else brought tarps and Mason climbed onto the roof with Derek while Hunter worked inside to protect the equipment.

Jace stayed close to me as we moved motorcycles away from the leaking areas.
