Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 168
CHAPTER 101-2
He had written about how long he’d known Uncle Will, how long he’d trusted the shop and how many times Paige had helped him and other customers,
Then he ended with a simple message.
If you want the truth about Lawson Customs, ask the people who actually use the place.
Within an hour, people started sharing it and another customer posted a photograph of his motorcycle inside the workshop.
Someone else wrote about me fixing a bike for an elderly man who couldn’t afford the dealership price.
Another customer described Mia as one of the most honest people he’d ever dealt with.
The comments continued. One after another and I stared at the screen.
“People are defending us.” Mia smiled and I nodded.
“They are.” I said.
“That has to feel good.” She said.
“It does.” I said and my confidence slowly returned but not completely.
The article still existed. The rumours were still out there. But now something else existed too.
The truth.
And people were willing to speak about it. Around five in the afternoon, Sarah Collins walked into the shop.
She wasn’t wearing her uniform and I looked at her.
“Sarah?” I asked and she smiled.
“Can we talk?” She asked.
“Sure.” I said so we stepped into the office and she closed the door.
“I’ve seen the article.” She said.
“I figured.” I said.
“I wanted to tell you something.” She said and I waited.
“There is no evidence against you.” She added as I stared at her.
“What?” I asked.
“There is no evidence that Lawson Customs is involved in organised crime.” She said and I released a breath.
CHAPTER 1O
“Thank you,” I said,
I’m telling you because I know how damaging these accusations can be.” She said.
“Can you do anything about the article?” asked.
“Not directly.” She said and I nodded.
“I understand.” I said.

“But I can tell you that the investigation has found nothing connecting you to criminal activity.” She said.
That meant more than she probably realized and I sat down.
“I’ve been scared that people, are going to believe it.” I said.
“Some will.” She said and I looked at her.
“That’s honest.” I said.
“I won’t lie to you.” She said.
“Thank you.” I said and she smiled.
“Keep doing what you’ve been doing.” She said.
“Working?” I asked.
“Exactly.” She said and I laughed quietly.
“That’s something I know how to do.” I added and Sarah nodded.
“Then keep doing it.” She said.
She left shortly afterward, and I returned to the workshop and Mia looked at me.
“Everything okay?” Mia asked as I smiled.
“Better.” I said and she grinned.
“Good.” She said.
The afternoon became slightly busier.
す
Two customers who had cancelled earlier called back and restored their bookings. Another customer walked in with a motorcycle that needed servicing.
George’s post continued spreading and the shop didn’t return to normal completely, but it started moving in the right direction.
By closing time, I was exhausted.
I washed my hands, cleaned the workbench, and helped Mia lock up. She stood behind the counter staring at her computer.
“What are you looking at?” I asked but she didn’t answer.
CHAPTER 2
“Mia?” I asked and she turned the screen toward me.
“I found something.” She said making my stomach tightened.
“What?” I asked as she pointed toward the article.
“I’ve been looking through the publication details.” She said.
“And?” I asked.
“The newspaper says the story came from an anonymous source.” She said.
“An anonymous source?” I asked.
“There are no names attached to the allegations.” She said.
“Can we find out who sent it?” I asked.
“That’s what I’m trying to work out.” She said and I moved closer.
“How?” I asked.
Mia pointed toward another section of the page.
“Look at the submission information.” She said and I read it carefully.
The article had been submitted through an anonymous contact. No name. No company. No official statement. Just a source listed as confidential.
“So someone fed them the story.” I said.
“Exactly.” She said.
