Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 169

CHAPTER 102-1

The anonymous message stayed on the screen long after Mia had finished reading it, and although the words were short, they carried enough weight to make my stomach tighten.

This is only the beginning.

I looked at Mia.

“Can you trace it?” I asked.

“I’m going to try.” She said.

She pulled the keyboard toward herself and started working through the newspaper’s contact information.

I watched her open several screens, check the article submission details, and compare timestamps.

“Whoever sent it knew how to hide themselves.” She said.

“Can you still find them?” I asked.

“Maybe.” She said as I grabbed my coffee and sat beside her.

“How?” I asked.

“The newspaper’s system recorded the sss address that submitted the information.” She said and I leaned closer.

“What does it show?” I asked.

“Nothing useful yet.” She said as she clicked through another screen.

“The account was created recently.” She added.

“How recently?” I asked.

“Three days ago.” She said and my stomach tightened.

“That’s convenient.” I said and Mia nodded.

“Very.” She said as she continued working.

The first sss address led to another account. That account led to another. Then another and I stared at the

screen.

“They’ve made several.” I said.

“At least four.” She said.

“Why?” I asked.

“To make tracing them harder.” She said and Mia copied each address into a document and I recognized none of them.

“Can you trace the original?” I asked.

“Not directly.” She said.

“Then what can you trace?” I asked.

“The timestamps, the account creation details, and some connection information.” She said and she paused.

“There might be something here.” She added and I leaned closer.

“What?” I asked.

“This account was created from the same general area as the previous one.” She said.

“Same person?” I asked.

“Possibly.” She said.

“Can you prove it?” I asked.

“No.” She said and I sighed.

“Of course not.” I said and Mia looked at me.

“You’ve got someone in mind.” She said and I didn’t answer immediately. Then I said the name.

“Charlotte.” I said and Mia’s expression became cautious.

“Why?” She said.

“Because she has a reason.” I said.

“That’s not proof.” She said.

“I know.” I said.

“She also has money now.” She said and I looked at her.

“You noticed that too?” I asked.

“Everyone has. The jewellery. The car.” She said.

“Exactly.” I said as Mia closed the laptop halfway.

“Paige, you can’t accuse her because she suddenly has expensive things.” She said.
