Summary for Chapter 190: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 190

CHAPTER 112-2

The children screamed with laughter and Derek slowly looked toward them.

“You’ve made a mistake.” Derek said and the children ran as Mason laughed.

“Get them.” Mason yelled.

Derek immediately grabbed a water balloon and the backyard erupted.

Children ran in every direction while adults tried to protect themselves.

I ducked behind a table as a balloon flew over my head and Jace was laughing.

“You look scared.” Jace said.

“I’m not scared.” I said as another balloon hit the table beside me.

“I am strategically positioned.” I added and he laughed harder.

“You stole Mason’s excuse.” He said.

“I did.” I said.

Then someone hit me directly in the back and cold water soaked through my shirt.

Jace covered his mouth and then he started laughing so I turned slowly.

“Did you see who did that?” I asked and he shook his head while trying not to laugh.

“No.” He said.

“You know who did it.” I said.

“I have no idea.” He said and I stared at him as he laughed again.

“You look adorable.” He said as I narrowed my eyes.

“That’s a dangerous thing to say.” I said as he took one step backward.

“Why?” He asked.

“Because you’re laughing.” I said.

“I’m not.” He said.

“You are.” I said.

I grabbed a bucket of water from beside the patio and Jace’s eyes widened.

“Paige.” He yelled and I smiled.

“You think this is funny?” I asked and he raised his hands.

“Wait.” He said as I threw the water.

CHAPTER.

It hit him directly and he stood completely soaked.

The backyard went silent for half a second and then everyone started laughing.

Jace looked down at his soaked shirt and then he looked at me.

“You did not just do that.” He said and I smiled.

“You deserved it.” I said and he laughed.

“You are in trouble.” He said and I ran.

He chased me across the yard while everyone shouted.

I screamed with laughter as I, ran around the tables.

“Jace!” I yelled.

“You started this!” He said.

“You were laughing!” I said.

“I’m still laughing!” He said.

He caught me near the fence and grabbed me around the waist. I tried to escape but it was useless.

“Put me down!” I yelled.

“No.” He said.

“Jace!” I yelled.

He lifted me just enough to make me squeal and everyone cheered.

“Traitor!” I yelled and Mason laughed.

“You should have known better.” Mason said.

Jace finally let me go, and I immediately grabbed another bucket and he saw it.

“No.” He said and I smiled.

“Yes.” I said as he backed away.

“You wouldn’t.” He said.

“I absolutely would.” I said.

Before he could escape, Mason threw a water balloon at him and Jace turned.

“Mason!” Jace yelled as Mason laughed.

“You were distracted.” Mason said.

Within seconds, everyone was soaked. Emma got hit. Derek got hit. Mason got hit twice in a row and the children were laughing so hard that some of them had to sit down.

CHAPTER 122.

Diesel ran through the middle of everything, completely confused about why everyone was suddenly

rowing water.

I laughed until my stomach hurt and for once, I wasn’t thinking about Victor.

I wasn’t thinking about Charlotte. I wasn’t thinking about the newspaper. I wasn’t thinking about security. I was simply Paige.

A woman standing in a backyard with wet hair and a soaked shirt while the man she loved chased her with a water balloon.

Eventually, everyone surrendered.

We sat beneath the patio, dripping water onto the concrete while Emma brought out towels.

“You people are ridiculous.” Emma said as Mason laughed.

“It was worth it.” Mason said and Derek nodded.

“Absolutely.” Derek said as Jace sat beside me.

“You started it.” Jace said and I looked at him.

“You laughed first.” I said and he smiled.

“I’d do it again.” He said as I leaned against him.

“Then I’ll throw another bucket.” I said as he kissed my forehead.

“Fair enough.” He said.

The children eventually changed into dry clothes, and the adults returned to eating.

The music started again, and the afternoon slowly settled into laughter and conversation.

I looked around the yard. Everyone was happy. Everyone was safe. And for a few precious hours, nothing else mattered.

As the sun began to lower, I rested my head against Jace’s shoulder.

“This was nice.” I said and he looked at me.

“You needed it.” He said.

“I did.” I said and he kissed my temple.

“You deserve days like this.” He said and I smiled.

“I think everyone does.” I said.

His phone suddenly started ringing and he glanced at the screen.

The smile disappeared from his face.

“Who is it?” I asked.
