Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 194
CHAPTER 114-2
“What happens now? Mason asked as Jace looked at him.
“We gather information.” Jace said.
“That’s it?” Mason asked.
“For now.” Jace said and Mason nodded.
“I can live with that.” Mason said as Jace looked at me.
“She’s right.” Jace said and I raised an eyebrow.
“About what?” I asked.
“We need to think before reacting.” Jace said and I smiled.
“Good.” I said and Mason looked between us.
“Did Paige just win an argument?” Mason asked as Jace shook his head.
“She usually does.” Jace said and I laughed.
“Usually?” I asked.
“Fine, always.” Jace said and Mason grinned.
“I knew there was hope for you.” Mason said as Jace threw a napkin at him.
The conversation became lighter after that, and I was grateful because the clubhouse had felt too tense lately.
I finished my breakfast, showered upstairs, brushed my teeth, and changed into clean jeans and a fresh Lawson Customs shirt before heading to the garage.
The drive there was uneventful, although I still found myself checking my mirrors more than I wanted to.
When I arrived, Ben was already working and Mia was answering the phone, and two customers were waiting near the office.
“Busy?” I asked and Mia nodded.
“Very.” She said.
“Good.” I said and she smiled.
“We have three new restoration inquiries.” She said and I laughed.
“Oliver’s referrals?” I asked.
“Two of them.” She said and I looked toward Ben.
“And the third?” I asked.

CHAPTER 1.
“Someone who heard about us through another collector.” She said.
felt a rush of pride. Lawson Customs was growing despite everything happening around us.
That mattered.
Claim
I spent most of the morning working on a classic motorcycle, and for several hours, I managed to focus entirely on the job.
I cleaned the carburetor, checked the fuel lines, and helped Ben inspect the brakes.
It felt good to have grease on my hands again. It felt normal.
Then, around lunchtime, my phone buzzed. It was Jace.
Everything okay?
I smiled.
Yes. Busy morning.
His response came quickly.
Good. Stay alert.
I stared at the message. He was trying to protect me, and I knew that so I typed back.
You too.
I put my phone away and returned to work. I didn’t know that while I was standing inside Lawson Customs, someone else was meeting in a quiet parking lot several miles away.
Charlotte sat inside her car with both hands resting on the steering wheel.
She had been waiting for almost ten minutes and she checked her phone.
No messages.
She looked toward the entrance of the parking lot. Then a dark sedan appeared.
It slowed before pulling into the empty space beside her and Charlotte watched as a man stepped out.
He was tall, dressed in a dark jacket, and wore a baseball cap low over his face.
She didn’t recognize him from around town. That was intentional so he walked toward her driver’s window and Charlotte lowered it halfway.
“You’re late.” Charlotte said as the man looked around the parking lot.
“Traffic.” He said making her frown.
“You said you had something for me.” Charlotte said.
“I do.” He said.
He reached inside his jacket and pulled out a small envelope and Charlotte looked at it.

CHAPTER 1.
“Is that everything?” She asked.
“No.” He said as he handed it through the window.
“This is only part of what you asked for.” He added as she opened the envelope.
Chaum
Her eyes moved over the photographs inside. One showed Paige outside Lawson Customs. Another showed Jace standing beside her. Another showed the clubhouse and Charlotte’s expression tightened.
“You’ve been watching them.” Charlotte said.
“That’s what you paid me to do.” He said as she looked at him.
“Did anyone see you?” She asked.
“No.” He answered.
“Are you sure?” She asked and the man smiled faintly.
“I’m careful.” He said as Charlotte looked back at the photographs.
“What’s the next step?” She asked.
“That depends.” He said.
“On what?” She asked.
“On how far you’re willing to go.” He said as she looked up.
“What does that mean?” Charlotte asked and the man’s expression became serious.
“You’re asking me to get information about people who have security around them.” He said.
“I need information.” Charlotte said.
“You need more than that.” He said as he leaned closer to the window.
“You need a reason to believe they’re going to hurt you.” He added and Charlotte stared at him.
“I already have one.” She said.
