Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 297
CHAPTER 167-2
“A customer.” I said.
“Name?” Derek asked.
“Mark Ellison.” I said and Derek looked through the window.
“Do you want me to check the bike?” Derek asked and I nodded.
“Quietly.” I said.
He gave me a small nod and walked outside.
I watched him approach the motorcycle while Mark stood nearby
Derek crouched beside the bike and looked over the tires, frame, and engine area without touching anything unnecessarily as Mark watched him.
“Everything okay?” The customer asked.
“Just checking the bike before we bring it inside.” Derek said.
“Fine.” He said.
Derek continued his inspection, and I noticed Mark’s attention shifting between Derek and the workshop.
He seemed nervous and that made me even more suspicious.
After several minutes, Derek walked back inside.
“Well?” I asked.
“Nothing obvious.” Derek said.
“Anything unusual?” I asked as Derek shook his head.
“The motorcycle looks legitimate, and the registration sticker is current.” He said.
“That should be good.” I said.
“It should.” He said but his tone told me he was not completely satisfied either.
Mark entered the workshop again.
“So, can you take it?” Mark asked and I looked at Derek before answering.
“We can, but we are pretty busy today.” Derek said.
“I can come back another time.” Mark said.
“That might be better.” Derek said and Mark nodded.
“I understand.” Mark said.
CHAPTER 167.
He turned toward the entrance, and Diesel immediately began growling again.
This time, Mark stopped and stared at him.
“You know, maybe I should take that as a sign.” Mark said and I forced a smile.
“Probably.” I said.
He walked outside, climbed onto his motorcycle, and started the engine.
I watched him pull away from Lawson Customs, but something about the entire encounter continued bothering me and Derek came to stand beside me.
“You noticed the same thing I did.” Derek said.
“What?” I asked.
“He was watching the cameras.” Derek said and my stomach tightened.
“You saw that?” I asked.
“Three times.” He said as I looked toward the security monitor.
“Check the footage.” I said and Derek nodded.
We moved into the office, where Mia pulled up the exterior cameras.
The footage showed Mark arriving, parking near the entrance, and looking around before walking inside and Derek rewound the footage.
“There.” Derek said.
The camera caught the motorcycle from the rear as Mark pulled away and the license plate was clearly
visible.
“Can you save that?” I asked.
“Already doing it.” He said as Mia stared at the screen.
“Do you think he was scouting the place?” Mia asked.
“I don’t know.” I said, although I had a pretty good idea.
Derek saved the footage and sent the plate number to Jace.
Within minutes, my phone rang.
Jace.
“What happened?” Jace asked and I explained everything, including Diesel’s reaction and the security footage.
“Send me the plate.” Jace said.
“I already did.” I said.

CHAPTER 167.
I have Ethan run it.” Jace said.
“Okay.” I said and I ended the call and looked at Derek.
“We wait.” I said.
The next hour passed slowly.
Customers came and went, motorcycles moved through the workshop, and everyone tried to return to normal, but I kept thinking about the stranger.
Then my phone rang again.
Sarah.
I answered immediately.
