Summary for Chapter 298: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 298

CHAPTER 168-1

By Saturday morning, Lawson Customs was the last thing on my mind because Jace had decided that the Iron Vipers needed a weekend away from the clubhouse, the workshop, and every problem that seemed determined to follow us around.

The plan was simple enough, because everyone would ride out to a private campsite several hours from town, spend the weekend together, and return Sunday afternoon.

Of course, with the Iron Vipers involved, nothing ever stayed simple for long

I packed food, blankets, clothes, and enough supplies for Diesel, while Jace loaded everything else into the truck.

“You realize we are only staying one night.” I said as I carried another bag outside.

Jace looked at the pile already stacked beside the truck.

“I know.” He said.

“Then why does it look like we are moving?” I asked.

“Because I have seen what happens when someone forgets something.” He said as I raised an eyebrow.

“You mean you forget something.” I said.

“That has happened once.” He said.

“Twice.” I said.

“Maybe three times.” He said

I laughed as Diesel jumped into the back of the truck and settled among the blankets.

“You packed him before yourself.” I said.

“He has priorities.” Jace said.

“He does.” I said.

Within another thirty minutes, motorcycles filled the driveway, and the clubhouse came alive with the sound of engines, children laughing, dogs barking, and everyone calling out instructions at once.

Emma and Sophia arrived with their families, while several other club members followed with their partners and children.

Jace climbed onto his motorcycle and looked toward me.

“You ready?” He asked.

“I am.” I said and he smiled.

“Then let’s go.” He said.

The ride was one of the most peaceful I had experienced in weeks, because the road stretched ahead of us white motorcycles followed in a long line, and for once, nobody was talking about Victor, Black Reapers, suspicious customers, or threats.

There was only the road

When we finally reached the campsite, everyone spread out quickly, because tents went up, children ran toward the clearing, and the dogs immediately began investigating every tree and patch of grass.

I helped Emma unload food while Sophia carried several bags toward the picnic tables.

“You know. You fit in here way too easily.” Emma said and I laughed.

“What does that mean?” I asked.

“You used to be the woman who wanted nothing to do with motorcycle clubs.” She said.

“I still have standards.” I said and Sophia laughed.

“You’re practically married to Jace.” She said and I looked toward him.

“That was clearly a moment of temporary insanity.” I said.

“Of course.” Emma said.

We laughed together, and I realized how natural it felt to stand there with them.

I had once believed that joining Jace’s world would mean losing part of myself, but instead, I had

discovered another family that somehow made room for everything I already was.

By early afternoon, the campfire was burning, and everyone gathered around while I helped prepare dinner.

Jace stood beside me, cutting vegetables while I stirred a large pot.

“I thought you were supposed to be in charge of the fire.” I said.

“I am.” He said.

“You are cutting vegetables.” I said.

“I am multitasking.” He said.

“You are avoiding the fire.” I said and he smiled.

“That too.” He said and I shook my head as the children raced past us.

“Dinner will be ready soon.” I called.
