Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 305
CHAPTER 171-2
“You built this place before 1 even understood what you were trying to build.” I whispered.
The words made my chest tighten.
I reached for another box, but before I could open it, the bedroom door creaked.
I looked up and found Jace standing there.
“You disappeared.” He said.
“I came up here to look through some of Uncle Will’s things.” I said and he walked inside and sat beside
“I figured.” He said.
“You could tell?” I asked.
“You get that look when something is bothering you.” He said and I smiled.
“What look?” I asked.
“The one where you pretend you are fine while thinking about twenty different things.” He said.
“That sounds very specific.” I said.
“I know you.” He said as I leaned against him.
“I found some photos.” I said and he picked one up.
“This one is good.” He said.
“That was the day he taught me how to ride.” I said.
“You look terrified.” He said.
“I was terrified.” I said and Jace laughed.
“I can believe that.” He said.
“He put me on the bike and told me not to panic.” I said.
“Did you panic?” He asked.
“I screamed.” I said and he laughed harder.
“I apparently screamed loud enough for a neighbor to come outside.” I added.
“I would have paid to see that.” He said.
“You would have laughed.” I said.
“I’m laughing now.” He said.

pushed his shoulder gently, and he smiled before looking through the other photos.
For the next hour, we sat together and remembered Uncle Will.
I told him stories about the competitions, the motorcycles, the arguments, and the ridiculous things Uncle Will used to say whenever something went wrong.
Jace shared stories about his own family, and the conversation slowly moved beyond Uncle Will.

We talked about parents, childhoods, mistakes, and the strange ways families could hurt each other without realizing the damage they were causing.
“My father was never good at saying what he felt.” Jace said.
“Mine either.” I said.
“Maybe that’s why people wait until it’s almost too late.” He said and I looked at him.
“Do you think people can change?” I asked.
“I think some people can.” He said.
“Even after years of making mistakes?” I asked.
“If they’re willing to admit them.” He said and I thought about Charles.
“And if they’re not?” I asked.
“Then you can’t change them for them.” He said and I nodded slowly.
“That’s what I’m learning.” I said and Jace took my hand.
“You don’t have to carry everyone else’s mistakes.” He said.
“I know.” I said.
“You built Lawson Customs because of what Will taught you, but you built your life because of what you chose.” He said and I smiled.
“I like that.” I said.
“It’s true.” He said.
We sat quietly for another few minutes, and then I returned my attention to the boxes.
“There is one more.” I said and Jace looked at the final box.
“Open it.” He said.
I pulled it toward me and lifted the lid.
Inside were several old documents, a small notebook, and a collection of personal items that I had never seen before.
I moved the notebook aside and found a folded photo beneath it.

Then something metallic caught the light and I reached into the box and pulled it free.
A small brass key rested in my palm and I frowned.
