Summary for Chapter 306: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 306

CHAPTER 172-1

I stared at the brass key sitting in the middle of Uncle Will’s desk, and for several seconds, nobody said anything because we were all thinking the same thing.

The key had to mean something.

Jace stood beside me with his arms folded across his chest, while Ethan leaned closer to the desk and studied the tiny piece of brass as though he could somehow make it reveal its secrets.

“Do you recognize it?” Jace asked and I shook my head.

“I have never seen it before, but Uncle Will had hundreds of things I never knew about, so that doesn’t really narrow it down.” I said.”

Ethan picked up the key carefully and turned it between his fingers.

“There is a number stamped here.” Ethan said.

I moved closer, and sure enough, there were tiny numbers etched into the metal.

“Seven-fourteen.” I said as Jace looked at Ethan.

“Storage unit?” Jace asked.

“That would be my guess.” Ethan replied.

My stomach tightened because the timing felt too perfect, and after everything we had discovered in Uncle Will’s journals, I couldn’t convince myself that this was simply another forgotten box of old belongings.

“Then we find it.” I said.

Jace looked at me for a moment before nodding.

“We find it.” He said.

We spent the next hour searching through Uncle Will’s old paperwork, and eventually Ethan found a storage facility listed under his name.

The unit number was 714.

Nobody said anything after that because the answer was sitting right there in front of us.

Less than an hour later, Jace, Ethan, and I were driving across town toward the storage facility, and I spent most of the trip staring out the passenger window while trying to prepare myself for whatever we might find.

I kept thinking about the note beneath Uncle Will’s notebook.

Don’t lose this.

He had hidden the key for a reason, and now I was finally starting to understand that whatever he had wanted me to find had probably been waiting for years.

CHAPTER 1gt.

The storage facility was quiet when we arrived, and rows of metal doors stretched along both sides of the property.

Ethan checked the paperwork again before pointing toward the far end.

“Unit 714 is down there.” He said.

Jace parked directly outside the unit, and I stepped out of the truck with my heart beating faster than it had any right to.

The door was old, scratched, and covered in a thin layer of dust, but the lock looked surprisingly clean. Jace noticed it too.

“Someone has been here recently.” Jace said as I looked at him.

“You think someone opened it?” I asked.

“I think we should be careful.” He said.

Ethan pulled out the key, and I watched as he slid it into the lock.

The mechanism clicked immediately and the door rolled upward with a loud metallic rattle, and a wave of cold, dusty air rushed over us.

I expected documents. I expected photographs. I expected something connected to Mr. Black.

Instead, I found motorcycles.

Not complete motorcycles, but dozens of parts stacked across shelves, tables, and wooden pallets.

I stepped inside slowly, and my mouth fell open.

“Oh my God.” I said.

Jace followed me inside, and Ethan moved toward the nearest shelf.

“These are old.” Ethan said.

I walked toward a large wooden crate and wiped dust from the top.

The faded lettering made my chest tighten.

Lawson Customs.

“These belonged to Uncle Will.” I said as Ethan nodded as he examined the crate.
