Summary for Chapter 321: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 321

CHAPTER 179-2

“Are the employees accounted for?” Mason asked as my stomach tightened and Mason looked toward Jace.

“We have a problem.” Mason said as Jace stood.

“What happened?” Jace asked.

“One of our warehouses is on fire.” Mason said and Everyone moved at once.

“Which one?” Jace asked.

“The north warehouse.” Mason said.

My heart dropped because that warehouse was one of the Iron Vipers’ legitimate business properties, and several employees worked there during evening shifts.

“Are people trapped?” I asked.

“We don’t know.” Mason said as Jace grabbed his jacket.

“Everyone who can help, move.” Jace ordered.

I was already reaching for my keys and Jace looked at me.

“Paige.” Jace said.

“I’m coming.” I said.

“You don’t need to.” He said.

“I know, but if people are injured, I can help.” I said and he stared at me for a moment before nodding.

“Stay behind emergency crews.” He said.

“I will.” I said.

I grabbed the first aid supplies from the garage and loaded them into my truck while Jace and the others

raced ahead.

The drive felt endless and when we reached the warehouse, flames were already visible above the roof.

Several trucks were burning in the yard, and thick smoke covered the area.

Fire crews were everywhere. Employees stood near the road, some coughing and struggling to breathe.

I jumped from my truck with the first aid supplies.

“Where are the injured?” I asked.

A firefighter pointed toward a group sitting near the sidewalk.

“Over there.” He said and I hurried toward them.

CHAPTER 1293.

Dr. Lian Brooks had arrived at nearly the same time, and together we began checking the employees.

“Anyone having trouble breathing?” Liam asked and several hands went up.

“Keep them seated.” He instructed.

I helped move one employee farther from the smoke while Liam checked his breathing.

“Smoke inhalation. He needs medical evaluation.” Liam said.-

“I’ll stay with him.” I said.

“Good.” He said.

Jace stood several yards away, speaking with the fire captain and Derek.

I watched him point toward the warehouse, then toward the road, as they discussed the situation.

Everyone was alive.

That was what mattered.

Several employees needed treatment for smoke inhalation, but nobody had been trapped inside.

The relief was overwhelming and I looked toward the warehouse as another section of the roof collapsed.

The sound echoed across the property.

“What started this?” I asked Liam.

“We don’t know yet.” He said and I nodded.

“Hopefully the investigators can figure it out.” I said.

Hours seemed to pass before the fire was finally brought under control.

The warehouse was heavily damaged, and several trucks were destroyed, but the structure was still standing and Jace approached me.

“You okay?” He asked.

“I am.” I said as he looked toward the injured employees.

“They’re going to be okay.” I said.

“That’s all I care about.” He said as Derek walked toward us.

“We found something.” Derek said as Jace turned.

“What?” Jace asked.

Derek pointed toward the remaining section of the warehouse.

“There.” Derek said.

We followed him around the side of the building.

CHAPTER 18.

Onc wall had survived the fire, and most of the paint had been blackened by smoke.

But someone had deliberately painted something across the center.

A symbol.

I recognized it immediately and my stomach tightened.

The Black Reapers emblem and Jace stared at it for several seconds.

“They want us to know this was them.” Jace said as Derek nodded.

“That’s what it looks like.” Derek said.
