CHAPTER 181-2

Aiden never hesitated to help when Ben became stuck, but he also made sure Ben figured things out himself.

“You can’t learn if I do everything for you.” Aiden told him one evening.

Ben frowned at the motorcycle part in front of him.

“I know.” Ben said.

“Then tell me what you think the problem is.” Aiden said and Ben studied it.

“The alignment is slightly off.” Ben said.

“Good.” Aiden said.

“And the bracket is bent.” Ben said.

“Exactly.” Aiden said as Ben smiled.

“I think I’m getting better.” Ben said as Aiden nodded.

“You are.” Aiden said.

I watched them from across the workshop, and pride warmed my chest.

Lawson Customs was no longer simply my business.

It was becoming a place where people learned, worked, and helped each other.

The community noticed what we were doing too.

One local supplier donated several boxes of materials. Another business offered replacement wiring supplies at cost.

A nearby parts store sent over tools and safety equipment.

Even a small fabrication company offered to help with materials we couldn’t produce ourselves and Mia stood beside the growing pile of donations.

“This is getting ridiculous.” Mia said as I smiled.

“Good ridiculous?” I asked.

“Very good ridiculous.” She said as I looked around the workshop.

The place was crowded, noisy, and completely exhausted, but nobody was complaining.

The warehouse might have burned, but it had not destroyed the community around the Iron Vipers.

If anything, it had shown us exactly how many people were willing to stand beside us.

That evening, I returned to the warehouse with another load of finished parts.

Jace was there with Mason and Derek, and several employees were already installing what we had delivered so Jace walked toward me.

“You’ve been working all day.” Jace said.

“So have you.” I said.

“You should rest.” He said.

“You first.” I said and he smiled.

“I was hoping you would say that.” He said.

We stood together for a moment and looked at the damaged building.

“It’s going to take time.” I said.

“I know.” He said.

“But it will come back.” I said as Jace nodded.

“We will rebuild it.” Jace said as I leaned against him.

“You know what Uncle Will would say.” I said.

“What?” He asked.

“He would probably complain that we were wasting perfectly good scrap metal.” I said and Jace laughed.

“He would definitely say that.” Jace said as I smiled and then my phone rang and I looked at the screen

and answered.

“Hello?” I answered and a man’s voice came through.

“Is this Paige Lawson?” He asked.

“Yes.” I said.

“My name is Oliver Hayes.” He said and I frowned slightly.

“I am listening.” I said.

“I heard about the warehouse fire, and I wanted to offer some assistance.” He said as I glanced at Jace.

“What kind of assistance?” I asked.

“Financial assistance.” He said and I straightened.

“That’s very generous, but the Iron Vipers have insurance.” I said.

“I know.” He said.
