Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 391
CHAPTER 214-1
Paige’s POV
For the first time in weeks, the clubhouse felt like a place where people could breathe.
The Sunday barbecue had started before noon, and by the time I walked into the backyard,
smoke was already rising from the grill while music played from the clubhouse speakers.
Children ran across the grass, adults stood around the tables with plates in their hands, and
motorcycles were lined up along the edge of the property.
The Iron Vipers had every reason to celebrate.
The warehouse operation had been a success, even though Damien had escaped again,
because we had destroyed one of Victor’s largest supply centres and recovered enough
evidence to hurt the Black Reapers badly.
Nobody believed the war was over. Nobody was pretending it was. But for one afternoon, we
could celebrate what we had accomplished.
Jace stood beside the barbecue with Mason, and I watched them argue about who had
burned the sausages.
“It was you.” Mason said as Jace shook his head.
“You were standing beside the grill.” Jace said.
“I was watching you.” Mason said.
“You should have helped.” Jace said.
“I was supervising.” Mason said as I walked toward them.
“You were both responsible.” I said and Jace looked at me.
“See?” Jace said and Mason laughed.
“She agrees with me.” Mason said.
“I didn’t agree with either of you.” I said and Jace handed me a plate.
“Then eat before you start judging us.” Jace said so I took it.
“You’re lucky I love you.” I said..

Children raced past us, and Diesel followed them with a tennis ball in his mouth.
One of the kids stopped suddenly and threw another ball toward the lake.
Diesel immediately changed direction and charged after it.
“Diesel!” I yelled but he ignored me and Jace laughed.
“He has selective hearing.” Jace said.
“He has selective priorities.” I said.
Diesel reached the edge of the lake and jumped into the water.
The children cheered and I shook my head while Jace watched the dog swim toward the
floating ball.
“He’s going to spend the rest of the afternoon soaking everyone.” I said.
“That sounds like his plan.” Jace said.
Diesel returned with the ball and shook himself before anyone could stop him.
Water sprayed across several people and the children screamed with laughter while Mason
wiped his face.
“That dog is a menace.” Mason said as I looked at Diesel.
“He’s happy.” I said.
“He’s destroying my shirt.” Mason said.
“He’s still happy.” I said and Jace laughed.
“That’s all that matters.” Jace said.
The afternoon continued with food, laughter, and stories about the warehouse operation.
Nobody shared sensitive details, but the club members talked about the successful parts of
the operation and the moment they realized how much equipment Victor had been storing
there.
The mood was lighter than it had been in a long time.
I looked around the yard and realized I had almost forgotten what everyone looked like when
