Summary for Chapter 396: Ride With Me (Paige and Jace)

Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 396

CHAPTER 216-1

Victor’s POV

The room had been louder when we were winning.

I stood at the head of the table and looked at the men who remained, but the sight did little to

ease the pressure in my chest.

There were empty chairs everywhere.

Months ago, the Black Reapers had filled this compound with riders, prospects, and

associates who believed the club would stand for years.

Now, barely half of them remained. The warehouse raid had taken more than weapons and

money.

It had taken confidence.

The Iron Vipers had destroyed one of our biggest supply centres, police had arrested several

members, and others had disappeared since then.

I knew what the others were thinking because I had been thinking the same thing.

How much longer could we keep going? So I placed both hands against the table.

“You all heard me earlier, and you know why I called everyone here.” I said but nobody

answered and I looked around the room.

“We have lost men, equipment, money, and territory, but we have not lost this club.” I said.

Damien gave a quiet laugh from across the table and my eyes settled on him.

“You find something funny?” I asked.

“No.” He said.

“Then stop laughing.” I said and Damien leaned forward.

“I was thinking about what you just said.” Damien said as my jaw tightened.

“And?” I asked.

“I was wondering whether you actually believe it.” Damien said as several men shifted

uncomfortably.

“You want to repeat that?” I asked.

“You said we haven’t lost the club, but look around.” He said as I followed his gaze toward the

empty chairs.

“We have fewer riders, less money, fewer weapons, and almost no safe places left.” He

added.

“We still have enough.” I said.

“Enough for what?” Damien asked as my expression hardened.

“For the final move.” I said as Damien shook his head.

“You keep calling it the final move, but every move you make puts another target on our

backs.” Damien said.

One of the younger riders lowered his head, while another glanced toward the door and I

noticed both reactions.

The doubt was spreading.

“We lost the warehouse because someone talked.” I said and Damien’s eyes narrowed.

“No, we lost the warehouse because the Iron Vipers found it.” Damien said.

“Because someone gave them information.” I said.

“Do you have proof?” Damien asked.

“I don’t need to prove anything to you.” I said.

“That’s exactly the problem.” He said and the room fell silent as I walked toward him.

“You seem to have forgotten who you are talking to.” I said as Damien remained seated.

“I know exactly who I’m talking to.” Damien said.

“You’re talking to the President of the Black Reapers.” I said.

“I am talking to the man who keeps promising us that the next move will change everything.”

Damien said as I stopped in front of him.

“And it will.” I said so Damien looked up.

“You said that before Lawson Customs was attacked.” Damien said and my fists tightened.
