I checked the feeds again. Still nothing and my jaw tightened.

“Why isn’t he answering?” I asked as Damien looked at me.

“Because he doesn’t have to.” Damien said as I turned toward him.

“What did you say?” I asked.

“You challenged him publicly, and he ignored you.” Damien said as I stared at him.

“He’s waiting.” I said.

“Maybe.” He said.

“He will respond.” I said.

“Maybe he has decided not to play your game.” Damien said and the words irritated me.

“Watch yourself.” I said but Damien didn’t back away.

“I am watching.” Damien said as I stepped closer.

“You seem very interested in questioning me lately.” I said.

“Someone has to.” He said and the room became quiet.

Several riders looked between us and Damien continued.

“We lost warehouses.” Damien said.

“That’s why I’m asking questions.” He added.

I stepped closer until we were almost face to face.

“You challenged me once before.” I said.

“And you nearly killed me.” He said.

“You should remember that.” I said.

“I do.” He said as Damien’s voice remained calm.

“That’s why I’m asking again.” He added and the riders around us became completely still.

“You told us the final operation would rebuild the club.” He said and I said nothing.

“You told us we would have money.” He added but still nothing.

The silence became unbearable. I wanted to hit him. I wanted to remind everyone why I was the

one giving orders. Instead, I stepped back.
