Ride With Me novel Paige and Jace by Kylie K Chapter 470

CHAPTER 249-1

stared at the envelope for what felt like an eternity.

My name was written across the front in Uncle Will’s handwriting, and even though the ink had faded with age, I knew those letters immediately.

I had seen them thousands of times. They were on old receipts, handwritten notes, workshop orders, birthday cards, and the journals I had spent so much time reading.

Yet seeing my name written there now felt different.

This wasn’t an old note I had already discovered.

This had been waiting for me.

George stood quietly nearby, giving me the space I needed and Jace stayed beside me, his shoulder touching mine.

I looked at the sealed envelope again.

“I don’t know if I can open it.” I said as Jace looked down at me.

“You don’t have to do it right now.” He said.

“I know.” I said as I swallowed.

“But if I don’t, I’ll spend the rest of my life wondering what he wanted to tell me.” I added and Jace

nodded.

“Then open it when you’re ready.” He said and I took a slow breath.

Then I carefully broke the seal.

The paper inside was folded twice, and the moment I pulled it free, I recognized the same handwriting.

My hands started shaking as I unfolded the letter.

I

There were only a few pages and I took a breath and started reading.

Paige,

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably standing somewhere you never expected to find yourself.

Knowing you, you’re probably arguing with somebody about whether you’re allowed to be there, and if you’re not arguing, then somebody has probably finally learned not to challenge you.

A laugh escaped me and I covered my mouth as tears immediately filled my eyes.

CHAPTER 249-1

“That’s him.” I whispered and Jace smiled so I continued.

I’ve spent a lot of years thinking about what family really means.

+25 Points

When I was younger, I thought family was simple. I thought it was blood, names, houses, and the

people who shared your last riame.

I was wrong.

I paused as my vision blurred and I wiped my eyes and continued reading.

Family isn’t always the people you’re born to.

Sometimes it’s the people who choose to stand beside you when life gets ugly.

Sometimes it’s the person who stays when walking away would be easier.

Sometimes it’s the person who sees the worst parts of you and still decides you’re worth loving.

My chest tightened and Jace’s hand moved slightly beside mine, but he didn’t interrupt. So I kept

reading.

There will be people who disappoint you, Paige.

There will be people who hurt you, and there will be moments when you wonder whether trusting anyone is worth the risk.

Don’t let those people convince you that you’re better off alone.

I stopped because those words hit harder than I expected.

For years, I had convinced myself that I didn’t need anyone. I could run Lawson Customs alone. I could handle the business. I could fight my own battles. I could survive anything life threw at me.

And I had.

But surviving wasn’t the same as living.

I continued reading.

You have always been stronger than you realize, but strength doesn’t mean carrying everything alone.

You don’t have to prove that you can survive every day by yourself.

Let people love you.

Let them help you.

Let them stand beside you.
