Aknew the baby shower was going to be big. I just hadn’t expected it to feel like the entire world had shown up.

The clubhouse grounds had been transformed by the time Jace and I arrived.

Fairy lights stretched between the trees, tables covered in food filled the grass, and decorations had been placed everywhere. There were flowers around the entrance, small motorcycle decorations on the tables, and enough balloons to make me wonder whether Emma had secretly ordered half the supply in the county.

I stepped out of the car and stared.

“Wow.” I said.

Jace came around the other side and took my hand.

“You like it?” He asked.

“I love it.” I said and he smiled.

“Good.” He said and I looked down at myself and laughed.

“Although I’m starting to think I’m the biggest decoration here.” I said as Jace looked at my

stomach.

“You are definitely getting bigger.” He said and I gave him a look.

“Careful.” I warned and he laughed.

“I meant that in the best possible way.” He said.

“You’d better.” I said.

I was only weeks away from giving birth now, and there was no hiding my pregnancy anymore.

My stomach had grown dramatically over the past few weeks, and walking for long periods had

become harder.

Jace noticed every little thing.

If I walked too slowly, he asked if I was tired. If I sat down, he brought me something to drink. If I stood for too long, he immediately found me a chair.

I loved him for it, even when it drove me crazy.

“I’m pregnant, Jace, not made of glass.” I said.

“Absolutely.” He said and I laughed.

Before I could say anything else, Emma came rushing toward us.

“There you are!” Emma said and she hugged me carefully.

“You look beautiful.” She said.

“Thank you.” I said as she stepped back and looked at my stomach.

“Oh my God, you’re getting so big.” She added and I laughed.

“Apparently everyone has decided that’s the first thing they’re allowed to say.” I said.

“Because it’s adorable.” She said.

Sophia walked over with Mia, and both of them immediately joined the conversation.

“You made it.” Sophia said.

“Of course we made it.” I said and Mia smiled.

“Everything is ready.” Mia said as I looked around.

“Everything?” I asked.

“Everything.” She said.

That was when Diesel came running toward us and I laughed the moment I saw him.

He was wearing a bow tie. A real bow tie and he walked proudly across the grass like he had been appointed guest of honor.

“Oh my God.” I said as I crouched as much as my stomach allowed.

“Look at you.” I said as Diesel wagged his tail and Jace laughed.

“He’s been wearing that thing all morning.” Jace said as I scratched behind Diesel’s ears.

“He’s handsome.” I said and Emma smiled.

“He knows it.” Emma said.
