You could tell that they were not playing because their kicks and punches had a lot of impact.
If each one could land a blow on the other then it would be a problem.
I looked at Addison who was just busy looking around and she didn’t say a word.

From the way her eyes were moving, I could tell that she was also able to keep up with the battle.
“You can see everything that is happening?” I asked her and she nodded.
“I was once trained with Jade, I am not even half as strong as she is but I am not weak,” she
answered and I looked at her.
You could tell that she was being honest when she said all that.
They suddenly stopped moving and Kane had a knife on Jade’s neck.
I heard as people gasped and I looked at Jade who had a smile on her face as she looked at him.
“Well, not bad. Want to test out who can kill who first?” Jade asked and I noticed that she had a
knife to Kane’s heart.
“Well, it seems that the student has surpassed the master,” he retorted with a chuckle and then dropped the knife.
I am sorry, but did he just say the student has surpassed the master?
These two were a student and master, but how is it even possible?
“There was a time when we were both trained by Kane Sade. He taught us combat, he was our
master,” Addison said.
“Wait, what did you just say?” Felix asked his mate who nodded.
“The two of you know the General?” Piers asked her and she nodded.
“Yes, we were trained by him for about a year and a few months,” she said.
I watched as Kane Sade, a man who is well known for being notorious went down on one knee.
“I did kick your ass without using magic, but that isn’t a reason for you to bow. You are still my master and I respect you dearly,” Jade said.
I looked at Jade and realized that she really didn’t use any magic in this battle.
Are you telling me that if she uses magic then she would be able to beat someone as powerful as
the General?
“Jade Bennett, in all its wisdom, The Order is requesting you to join its ranks as the representation

for the witches,” he said in a formal tone and took out a gold envelope.
I heard as the room gasped at this and my eyes landed on the envelope.
Wait, did he just say that The order wants Jade to join them?
“Let’s not talk about this here. Please, let’s talk privately about this,” Mr Jones said.
We headed to my office and every sat down and it was so quiet you could hear a needle drop.
How is it even possible?
Such an honor is given to the most powerful people.
“What is this about me joining The Order?” Jade broke the silence and I watched as Kane bowed
his head to her.
“As you know, the witch who was powerful enough to be on The Order has unfortunately passed away and her seat is empty. There is now an imbalance in power,” Kane explained.
“I understand that, but why Jade? She is still so young for such a responsibility. The youngest member to ever join The Order as a leader was 40 years old and Jade is 24 years old,” Mom pointed out and looked at Jade.
“I am aware of that, but things change. I am sorry to be the one to tell you this, but your daughter-in-law’s power is on par with that of the Kings,” Kane explained to my mother.
He then looked at Jade who was just looking outside like we weren’t talking about her.
“Such power is rare, such natural talent isn’t something you can find anywhere,” he added.
My mother looked at Jade and then at me but I know Kane isn’t wrong.
I saw her, I saw her take down an entire Army like it was nothing and she didn’t even break a sweat
in the process.
“Jade, I thought you and I were closer than that. You too Addison,” Kane said and Addison looked
down.
“Why didn’t the two of you tell me about it huh? Why didn’t you tell me that you were being forced to get married? I would have saved you from all of this, I would have never let it happen,” he added
and I frowned at this.
Did he just say that he would have never let my marriage happen?
“What is done is done,” Jade just answered and her words were cold. She is still angry with me and I deserve her wrath.

“Okay, what is done is done. But there is no need for you to stay in this facade you call a marriage. Accept the offer and you will have nothing to worry about. With The Order standing behind you, not one will dare to mess with you,” he said and placed the envelope in her hands.
“You won’t have to stay here and live a life of mediocrity. You will be able to fulfill your full potential and we can even help you fight against that shadow,” he added.
I watched as Jade’s eyes widened at the offer of them helping her fight the shadow.
I didn’t need to ask because I was frozen in place as it sank in.
The Order, Jade is angry with me because I branded her.
Not only that, but The Order is giving her a way out and a promise to take care of a threat that is weighing heavily on her.
Jade could leave me, and with the resources of The Order, I think they can easily remove the mark.
Jade looked at the envelope in her hands and Kane got up and then looked around the room.
“I will go ahead now and leave. I am sorry for interrupting your lively party. And the two of you better stop ignoring my calls from now on,” he added pointing at Jade and Addison.
The fact that she knows a man with such influence should be a shock enough all on its own.
But now that they want her to join The Order, that’s an entirely new shock on its own.
“What is there to think about? Joining The Order has always been your lifelong dream. If you want freedom, then that is the place where you can find it. That is all you ever wanted right? All you ever wanted was freedom and now it’s in your hands. What are you thinking about?” Addison asked her.
“What are you saying? Did you forget that Jade is married to Dante and they love each other?” Felix
asked his mate.
“Love? What kind of love is it that brands you without your permission? What kind of love is it that is forced down your throat? They were never meant to happen. All of this was because of someone’s selfishness. I have noticed a pattern, even Dante is just as selfish as his mate. Jade should get out of her and run as fast as she can,” she retorted.
I looked at Jade who was quiet and her face didn’t betray her emotions.
Is she really considering it?
