Chapter 120. Shadow
Chapter 120: Shadow
Jade’s pov
I opened my eyes when I felt someone touching my hair.
“You are awake,” Mom said and I nodded as I looked around the room.
Claim
“I sent him away, you should be resting but you were doing other things,” she said and I smiled at
this.
“I feel okay,” I said and she nodded but organized the blankets for me.
“Thank you, Mom,” I said and she looked at me confused.
“I never really realized it, but last night made me think back to everything. Come to think of it, you were always there for me when I needed you,” I explained and she shook her head.
“No, I wasn’t, had I known something was wrong maybe I could have stopped what my Mother did to you. She even threatened me, I should have known she was up to something,” she said and I
smiled.
“You were stuck between a rock and a hard place, I don’t think anyone will blame you for it,” I
answered and she sighed.
“That’s not the only thing you did for me,” I said and she looked at me confused.
“You forced me to marry Dante,” I pointed out and she smiled at this.
“He is a good man, but I do have one problem about this whole thing,” she said.
“And what is that?” I asked her and she just shrugged.
“Your sister got affected by it. I don’t know how things got so messed up. How is it that she is Dante’s mate?” she asked the same question I have as well.
“Well, what happened has happened,” I answered and she nodded.
“And also, thank you for allowing me to leave home. I know you had it in your power to bring me back but you let me stay,” I added and she sighed.
“Why did you have to cut your hair?” she asked me patting my head and I smiled at this.
She stayed with me for some time and we talked and then it was time for her to go back home.
I should really go downstairs and talk to everyone but right now I am scared.
I mean Dante doesn’t seem to mind and Mom assured me that everyone is okay but I am still

scared.
After what happened, everyone in my grandmother’s coven started looking at me differently.
Even my grandmother herself looks at me like I am some abomination.
“How long will you stay in bed?” Addison asked standing at the door.
“However long it takes,” I answered and she looked at me and smiled.
“They are hosting a BBQ, with meat of all kinds. As far as the eyes can see,” she said and I
swallowed some saliva.
Claim
“I saw them cover some meat with bacon, huh, I bet it’s going to taste amazing,” she added and I
frowned at this.
“I hate you for this,” I said and she chuckled and walked towards me.
I was about to say something but she hugged me so tightly I was speechless.
“You should have shown me. Nothing in this world could ever change how much I love you. You could kick a thousand adorable puppies and I would still think that you had a valid reason,” she said
and I chuckled at this.
“What valid reason would one have to do such a thing?” I asked her and she just shrugged.
“Now, get up, and let’s go and have fun with the rest of the family,” she said dragging me off the
bed.
I got off the bed and freshened up before going downstairs.
“Sister-in-law, don’t eat whatever Nick gives you. I saw him holding a booger this morning,” Alec
said.
“How dare you? Why would you lie like that?” Nick asked and his eyes landed on me.
I chuckled as he put Alec under his shoulder and the young sibling was trying to run off.
“Don’t mind him, have this bagel,” he said and I nodded as I took it.
I was about to take a bite when Alec looked at me and made a sign of someone poking their nose.
I looked at Nick who had a massive smile waiting for me to take a bite.
I took a bite and it was actually good.
“Look at that, she likes the booger bagel,” Addison commented and I chuckled at this.
“Well, what do we have here?” Elvis asked and I looked at him confused.

“What are you doing here?” I asked him and he just shrugged.
“I heard that a soldier was down, I can’t have you eat whatever these people are cooking,” he whispered the last part.
“Where were you this morning? I had lentil soup,” I said trying not to gag at the memory of that
soup.
The rest of the night was just us eating and talking.
As night came, everyone went back to their rooms, and Dante and I went on a midnight walk.
“The stars look beautiful tonight,” I said and he nodded and hugged me tightly.
“But nothing can be as beautiful as you are,” he commented and I rolled my eyes at this.
Always the charmer isn’t he?
We went back to our room and Dante had something urgent to do in his office.
I took a shower and was getting ready for bed when I felt someone staring at me.
I didn’t imagine it, because I looked outside the window and there was someone staring at me.
It was dark outside so I couldn’t see exactly who it was but they were looking at me.
I just froze when I caught that aura from years ago.
“Who is out there?” I finally got the courage to ask.
The door opened and Dante stood there looking at me confused.
“What’s wrong?”amy
he asked me and I looked outside and the shadow was gone.
Claim
“Someone was out there, they were staring at me,” I said and he walked outside the balcony but
found no one.
“There is nothing, not even a scent left behind,” he said.
He handed me his shirt and I looked at him confused only to realize that I was still very much
naked.
That person was staring at me, a cold shiver ran down my spine, and that aura told me all I needed
to know.
He is already here, but how did get here?
Did he sneak into the pack tonight because I know that he is capable of doing so without being
detected?
< Chapter 120 Shadow
Did he do that or is he already here?
“Calm down, I will have someone parole around this area. He won’t get passed security again,”
Dante said and I nodded.
“Dante, there is something that I don’t understand,” I said and he looked at me curiously.
“Why doesn’t he just kill you?” I asked him and his eyes widened.
“Wait a second, I thought that you loved me,” he said and I smiled at this and nodded.
Claim
“I do love you, but think about it. You are the only person coming between me and him. Getting rid
of you sounds like a really smart idea if you ask me,” I said and he nodded.
“Maybe he can’t for some reason,” Dante supported exactly what I was thinking this whole time.
I mean think about it, killing Dante would be the easiest way to achieve what he wants.
I mean maybe he knows that it wouldn’t be an easy task to do but it should have been his first
thought.
“Come on, let’s go and get some ice cream,” Dante said and we walked downstairs to the kitchen.
I got my caramel flavor while Dante just stood there looking at me as I was eating.
“Aren’t you going to eat some?” I asked him and he just shrugged at this.
“No, I will just look at you as you eat,” he said and stood between my legs.
I wrapped them around his waist and he started slowly kissing my neck.
“Not here, we are in the kitchen,” I pointed out and he just smiled.
“It wouldn’t be the first time, plus if that jerk is watching this should piss him off,” he whispered.
I looked around the room, I couldn’t feel any eyes on us right now.
And Dante isn’t wrong, we need to draw out that person somehow.
And if making him jealous is the only way how then what other choice do I have?
I will just sleep with Dante right here, it is the right thing to do, right?
