Chapter 132: Father and Son

Chapter 132: Father and Son

Jade’s pov

Claim

It is said that there is one thing that werewolves love just as much as they love their mates if not

more.

And that is their children, a child can hold a candle to the mate bond.

I don’t blame them for saying all that.

I am not a werewolf and there is no special thread connecting me to my son but I would kill for

him.

I would burn this world down if it meant that he would be safe.

I looked at Dante and his eyes were starting to change color.

Tom was looking at him and as if sensing the threat my son buried his head on my shoulder. I put

him down and smiled as I looked at him.

“Go on inside, Mommy will be right there,” I said and he nodded and went inside.

He closed the door behind him and I focused my attention back on the angry Alpha King.

“You kept my son away from me?” he asked me.

His voice was low and at the same time held this power to it.

“Yes,” I answered, I could tell him all the excuses under the sun but it wouldn’t work at all.

I stood still and didn’t move even as he placed his hand around my neck.

“Give me one reason I shouldn’t kill you now?” he asked me.

His eyes were now completely turning red and I remained calm.

“I said, give me a reason why I shouldn’t kill you,” he said and I smiled at this.

“Because I am the mother of your son,” I answered and watched how his eyes widened.

“We have a son, Dante, he has the same eyes as you and dimples just like yours as well,” I added.

He dropped his hand from my neck and took a few steps back before looking at me.

He seemed shocked and then looked at his hand.

“I am sorry, I didn’t mean to do that,” he said and I just sighed at this.

“No, you have every right to be angry with me. I kept you away from your son,” I said and he shook

his head.

“No matter how angry I am, it’s no excuse to raise a hand on a woman. Especially not the mother

of my child,” he said and I watched how he smiled as he said that.

“Mother of my child,” he said it again as if the words were foreign to him.

“Why didn’t

you tell me?” he asked me and I sighed at this.

“Please let’s go inside,” I said and he nodded.

He was now a little calm but I could tell that I was far from being forgiven for this.

“Well, if it isn’t Dante,” Mom said as she looked at him.

“You are here?” Dante asked her and then looked at me.

“Mom has been staying with me for the past 5 years,” I explained and he smiled shocked once

again but nodded.

I mean he saw us trying to mend our relationship but he probably didn’t think we made so much

progress.

“Nice to see you again Mrs Bennett,” Dante said and Mom just shrugged.

“Tom, hurry up,” Mom said and Tom came out of his room running.

“Mommy, we are going grocery shopping for dinner,” Tom said and I nodded as I waved them off.

The moment the door closed behind them the aura in the room changed.

Seducing him won’t work, I would probably be thrown across the room if I tried that.

“I am sorry,” I said and he didn’t say anything but just sat there for a few minutes.

“He wouldn’t have been safe there. For as long as my sister was working with that man. And also because we didn’t have the power to protect anyone,” I added and he sighed but still didn’t say

anything.

“That madman, he came to me when I got to Mom’s coven. Said that he would let me live a peaceful life with my child if I didn’t tell you about it,” I added, and silence.

“My hands were tied,” I explained and he didn’t say anything and just sat there.

How do I fix this?

I mean I expected him to be angry but I also expected him to be happy.

I was hoping that his happiness would outweigh his anger.

I will admit that I was also going to take advantage of the fact that he loves me too.

“I will ask you a question Jade, please be honest when you answer my question,” he said and I

nodded.

“How do I trust you after this? You managed to keep something this big a secret from me,” he pointed out and I nodded.

“You left without telling me, kept me away from our son.

You constantly make decisions on your own.

Don’t I matter to you at all? What am I to you Jade?” he asked me and I held his hand.

“You are my husband Dante, the love of my life and the father of my child. You mean the world to

me,” I answered and he scoffed.

“And how do I trust you now? How do I even know that you mean what you say? Don’t you see what you have done Jade? You have betrayed me time and time again,” he pointed out and I nodded.

I am not going to cry, he has every right to be angry with me and my tears will only make him feel guilty for being angry.

He has every right to be angry, I did betray him time and time.again.

“You don’t trust me anymore and that is okay. Once I get rid of that madman, then I will work day and night to earn your trust again,” I said and he looked at me confused.

“After the meeting, you said that there is no way to get rid of him. That he would jump from one body to another,” he said and I nodded.

“That was before I found the solution. I have been doing research on it for years, it’s why I joined The Order. So I could find a way to kill that madman and come back to you,” I said hoping it would

melt his heart a bit.

“I have another question to ask you. If you were in my position, I left you and then hid our son from you. Would you ever forgive me for this? If the roles were reversed, would you forgive me?” he

asked me and I shook my head.

“No, I don’t think I would have been able to forgive you,” I answered honestly and he smiled at this.

A pained smile that broke my heart even more.

“You put me in this position Jade, a position where I can’t even forgive the love of my life. What should I do now?” he asked me.

The door opened and Mom stood there looking at us.

“You take it one step at a time. That is what you do with the people you love,” Mom answered and

entered the room.

Tom was right behind her and his eyes landed on me as he smiled.

One step at a time, why not start by introducing the father and son?
