Chapter 134: Soup Lady

Dante’s pov

Jade took time off work and spent her entire week with me and Tom.

It felt good, to finally be this happy after so long.

I looked at Jade who was busy in the kitchen and I couldn’t understand why.

Claim

“Come on, why are you doing all that? Let’s go and take a shower and do other things,” I said and

she shook her head.

“This is important, you have a long journey ahead of you. Go and get some sleep,” she said and I

looked at her.

This entire week we haven’t spoken about her coming back home at all.

Should I touch on the topic now or when I come back after another week?

I want her back home as soon as possible but I can tell that she is planning something.

“About the matter of us going back home,” I said and she turned around and looked at me.

“We will go back home, believe me, I want nothing more. But there is something I am hoping to do,””

she said and I looked at her and nodded.

I went to bed and found Tom sleeping soundly.

Jade came to bed later when I was asleep and only heard her footsteps.

The morning we had breakfast and as I was getting ready to leave Jade handed me containers full

of food.

“What is this?” I asked her and she smiled at this.

“You mentioned that Dove doesn’t eat much, I added some herbs in there,” she explained and I

looked at the food.

She is so considerate but I don’t think Dove will touch any of this.

“Don’t worry, I understand what is wrong with Dove. She is being erased,” she explained and I

looked at her confused.

“The world we live in requires balance,” she said and I nodded.

I have heard people talk about something like that.

“The universe will do anything and everything to kill Dove. Her lack of appetite and everything is

just a way to do so,” she explained and I sighed.

“Will this help her?” I asked her and she nodded at this.

“Just give it a try,” she said and I nodded and we said our goodbyes.

Tom wasn’t happy to see me leave already and that actually made me happy.

My son was now already attached to me and we have formed a bond in so little time.

I can’t wait until everyone meets him, they will absolutely love him.

I drove back to the pack and as I walked in I found everyone having dinner.

“Brother you are back,” Tia said and I smiled as I looked at her.

“So, you really are back now?” I asked her and she nodded.

“Well, she has been away from her pack and family. Plus our kids will get older and they should grow up here,” Elvis answered holding one of the twins.

The other one was sleeping, that one is really lazy and I still can’t tell them apart.

“Please warm this up,” I asked one of the people that worked in the kitchen.

“And put the rest in the fridge,” I added.

Claim

“What is that brother? I didn’t think you were a soup kind of person,” Alec said and I just shrugged.

I sat down and found Felix and Piers looking at me.

It wasn’t just them but everyone was looking at me.

“What is it?” I asked them and they just shrugged.

“You seem different,” Felix pointed out and I just shrugged it off.

But what could it be?” Nick asked.

“He is smiling, you have been smiling ever since you walked in,” Addison said.

She had a frown on her face, she looked at me suspiciously and the sighed.

My eyes landed on Dove who just sat there and wasn’t touching her food.

I looked at Sasha who didn’t even care at all.

I remembered how Jade and Tom were forcing themselves to eat those broccoli.

Jade hates vegetables but she is setting an example for our son to incorporate vegetables in his

diet since they have great benefits.

Someone came with a bowl full of soup that Jade made and I put in front of Dove.

I was about to feed her myself when she took a spoon herself and then started eating.

The entire room froze at this and we all watched as she ate by herself.

They were even smart enough to make some grilled cheese bread.

I found myself smiling as she even ate that dipping it in the soup.

Jade, what the hell have you done?

To think that she spent the whole night doing that, she made all kinds of soups for her.

“What was in that soup?” Mom asked me and I just shrugged.

“Where did you get it?” Sasha asked me and I sighed.

Claim

“Where I was, the woman there is a great cook and liked me a lot. When I told her about Dove she

volunteered to make something for her,” I answered.

It wasn’t a lie, Jade is a woman and she has improved a lot in her cooking.

She is actually really great.

I was honestly shocked.

Apparently, since she and her mother weren’t great cooks they took some cooking classes

together.

I looked at Dove who finished the entire bowl and I poured her a glass of water and she gulped it

up in one go.

“Seriously? What was in that soup?” Mom asked and I just shrugged.

“Come on kiddo, let’s go and I will put you to bed,” I said standing up.

Usually, Dove would just sit there and I would pick her up myself but she got up on her own.

She walked up to.me and raised her hands so I could pick her up.

I found myself frozen as I looked at my adorable daughter.

I smiled, picked her up, and kissed her forehead.

“You look really pretty today, want to see what Daddy bought you?” I asked her.

I expected her not to say anything but look at me.

This time, she looked at me and smiled as she nodded.

“What the hell was in that soup?” Alec asked.

I just shrugged and as I was walking away I noticed how Sasha was looking at the now empty

bowl.

She didn’t seem happy that her daughter was now eating but seemed suspicious of the food.

Well, she is evil but I think she also just figured out who made it.

I showed Dove everything I bought her.

I put her to bed but she didn’t seem sleepy and I wanted to thank Jade as well.

I called her up and we talked for some time.

“I am about to put Tom to bed, mom sing me a lullaby,” Tom said on the other side.

Claim

“Don’t hang up Jade, I will put you on speaker because I am trying to put Dove to sleep,” I told her.

I put Jade on speaker and she started singing the lullaby.

I also started feeling sleepy but all the sleep left my body when Dove’s eyes closed.

I looked at the time and it was 8 pm, she would usually sleep at around 11 pm if not midnight.

She has always had trouble sleeping as well and this time she seemed to be at peace.

As the week went by, I continued giving Dove the food that Jade prepared and I noticed even more

positive changes.

“Well, that was the last drop of the soup you came with,” My mom said as she gave Dove a bowl.

My daughter started eating and I smiled as I looked at her.

“Well it’s a good thing you are leaving tomorrow, the soup lady can just make more,” Mom added

and I chuckled at this.

Jade would hate it if she found out that they call her the soup lady.

I will be gone for a week, in that time what will Dove be eating?

I looked at her and her body and skin had also improved a lot.

She was starting to look the way a healthy child should look.

“Pack a bag for Dove, I will be going with her,” I told my mother who nodded.

Yes, the person who takes care of my daughter is Dove since Sasha doesn’t care.

The aura that surrounds Sasha has become darker than before.

She doesn’t even care about her own daughter so it makes sense.

The next morning I drove straight to Jade’s apartment.

I knocked on the door and Tom was the one that opened the door.

“Daddy,” he said as he threw himself in my arms.

I pulled him into a bear hug and my son’s eyes landed on Dove.

Claim

“This is your younger sister, Dove,” I explained and he smiled as he hugged Dove who just stood

still.

“Hug me back like this,” Tom showed her as he made her wrap her arms around him.

I found myself standing there and crying at the scene in front of me.

“Well, the big bad Alpha King is crying again,” Jade said standing at the door.

“Well, how can I not?” I asked her and her eyes landed on Dove.

I watched how they softened and she smiled as she picked up Dove.

“I made some spaghetti and meatballs, come and let’s have some,” she said. I watched as they

walked in and I followed behind them.

Is it wrong of me to wish that Dove was mine and Jade’s daughter instead?
