Chapter 146: Trap

“There has to be a way,” Addison said, and I shook my head. “Come on, you just came back,” Piers

said, and I just sighed.

“Yes, sister-in-law, you left before I could get married, and now you are leaving again,” Lou said.

I looked at Piers’s mate, who has changed a lot in the past five years.

Last time I met her, she could hardly say a word without looking like she wanted the ground to

swallow her up.

She is the mate of the Gamma and is also now a mother herself, so it makes sense.

Unlike Addison and Felix, who waited to have kids, they didn’t waste any time.

Their son is almost the same age as mine.

He was playing around with Dove and Tom just a few hours ago.

I looked around the dinner table, and before I could say something more, I heard someone chuckle.

I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.

My older sister is the only person who could be happy about this.

I looked at her, and it made me wonder for a second.

Why hasn’t she left yet?

“I just wanted to be here when you realize how totally powerless you are,” she said with a big grin

on her face.

I looked at her, and she helped me realize one important clue.

A clue that I was missing, they say that when one door closes, another opens.

Now I realize something, it’s not that we are totally powerless.

Our plan was doomed to fail because we thought that we were merely dealing with an evil spirit

and nothing else.

But now we have realized that the spirit has probably joined up with its owner.

So our hope was all for nothing; we would have gotten people killed.

I looked at her and I wished there was a way to wipe that smug smile off her face.

I just wish that we had a two birds, one stone kind of solution right now.

Wait, that is the answer, two birds and one stone is the answer.

I looked at Dante, who smiled as he looked at me.

“You have a solution, don’t you?” he asked me, and I nodded at this.

“Come on, let’s talk privately,” I said, and then looked at my older sister.

“Don’t worry about the kids, I will make sure that they get ready for bed,” Mom said, and I nodded.

We all walked to Dante’s office and closed the doors behind us.

“What is this solution, sister-in-law?” Nick asked me, and I wrote something on paper and showed

everyone.

They all nodded at this and sat down so we could talk about the plan.

“Then the plan is very simple, that madman was able to get my sister pregnant with Dove. Which means he is powerful enough to create a life. It would also mean that he is powerful enough to

sustain it,” I explained, and everyone nodded.

I

“That makes sense, but it’s not like we can simply ask him to save Dove,” Addison pointed out, and

I nodded.

“But power is like energy, it can be transferred from one object to another,” I retorted.

“Yes, are you using the logic that werewolves use as well? If a Beta wolf kills an Alpha, he then becomes an Alpha,” Felix explained.

“Exactly,” I answered, and everyone nodded.

“Are you saying that if you kill that madman, then you will get all his power?” Dante asked me, and I nodded in agreement.

“Then we can use that power to save Dove,” I added.

“But how do you kill an evil spirit?” Alec asked.

“That’s the thing, we were so focused on him being an evil spirit. But if his soul is inside his actual

body, then it will be easier to kill him,” I explained to him.

“But you will need a special weapon for it, a dagger with the red flame from hell,” Addison said, and

I nodded.

“Red flame from hell, doesn’t sound like something you can find at the market,” Piers pointed out.

“No, it’s not, but our Alpha King and his wife are both members of the Order. I am sure that they

have something like that in store,” Lou said, and I nodded.

Claim

“So, all we need is this special weapon from the Order, and then we can kill him?” Nick asked, and I

nodded.

“There is one more important thing we need to talk about. How do we find the madman?” Felix asked, and we all sat there, thinking about it.

One thing we know is that he is obsessed with me for some reason.

What if we use me to draw him out?

But how can we even do that?

He will be able to tell that it’s a trap.

“We set a trap, but how do we not make it obvious?” Addison asked, looking at me.

“Let’s set a trap without trying to set a trap. Usually, it rains when you don’t want it to rain, then let’s

set a trap without trying too hard,” Dante suggested.

Set a trap without trying too hard sounds really hard.

I am sure that anything we plan will only draw him out more.

“We could have a ceremony to name you as my Queen Luna finally” Dante suggested with a small

smile.

I looked at him, and he was just a little spooked that I almost left again.

“But how will we know that our target is there?” Felix asked.

“There is something that I thought about in all those years you were gone,” Lou said and got up.

I watched as she took the whiteboard and a marker and then started writing things down.

“You guys are reincarnated or something like that. The two of you connected the moment you

met?” she asked us, and we nodded.

“The madman, he came to get engaged with you when you were 16 years old?” she asked me, and

I nodded.

“I see your point, how on earth did he know that it was me? We are reincarnated, which means

different bodies,” I said, and she nodded.

“This means he must have connected with you the same way you two did,” Felix said, and I nodded

at this.

“Then it means one thing, he is someone you know very well,” Addison also pointed out.

“Not just someone I know very well, but someone who knows all of us very well. He knew that my sister would take his little potion to try and steal my destiny,” I said, piecing everything together.

“This means that he is someone who was close enough to know how jealous your sister was,”

Dante added.

“It is someone I was close to; it could be anyone. It could be my own family, but how do we find out

the truth?” I asked, looking around the room.

“Just as Dante said, we set a trap without setting a trap,” Addison answered, and I nodded.

Wait, could it really be a member of my family?

But that’s gross, right?

And who could it be?
