Chapter 145: Remnants
Jade’s pov
I looked at Dante, who was now even more stressed.
This is why I didn’t want to tell him.
The idea was to say to him once Dove has been saved.

my head.
“Is there really nothing else we can do?” Dante asked me, and I shook my
“Nothing that I can think of, even my mom couldn’t think of anything,” I answered and he sighed at
this.
“I have power now, I can protect you and Tom,” Dante said, and I nodded at this.
There is no doubt that he can protect us, but for how long?
That madman is basically a spirit that can hop from one body to another.
I have found a way we can detect him once he reaches the pack border.
But all it will do is get innocent people killed and not get to the main cause.
I was about to say something when Sasha suddenly walked into the room.
She looked around the room, and I watched how she smiled at this.
“Are you plotting on how you are going to kill me to save Dove?” she asked me.
When I didn’t answer, she chuckled at this and then sighed.
Her eyes looked around the room, from me to Dante, and she smiled.
“Something else is going on here, isn’t it?” she asked me, and I didn’t answer.
She knows that the only way to save Dove would be to kill her but she doesn’t seem to care.
It’s either that she doesn’t care or she has planned something.
“I don’t need to plot to kill you. I can do it right away,” Dante answered as he walked towards her.
Before he could even touch her, something pushed him away from her.
She smiled at this, and I realized why she seemed so cocky.

“I am leaving here, you can’t kill me for the next 24 hours. That would be more than enough time to get away from here,” she said with a chuckle.
“I don’t know what is going on here, but it is good to see you so miserable,” she added and turned
to leave.
“Dove is going to be saved no matter what. We don’t need to kill you ourselves,” I said, and she stopped in her tracks.
“What are you talking about?” she asked and I just shrugged.
“I was going to use you to kill the madman, you are the only link to him because he has used his dark magic on you. Which means, you are also his major weakness,” I pointed out and watched how her eyes widened.
“What are you talking about?” she asked me, and I nodded at this.
“I can’t kill you because you are my sister. But I don’t think he will feel the same way,” I explained, and then sighed.
“But then if he kills me, then you can’t kill him,” she retorted, and I nodded.
I watched as she started piecing everything together.
“If you kill me, then she will have to leave this place, but the Dove dies. But if I don’t die, then Dove
dies,” she said with a smile.
“I wouldn’t smile like that if I were you. If Jade and Tom leave, then I won’t hesitate to end your miserable life,” Dante said, and I watched as he closed his eyes to calm himself down.
“You are the reason we are in such a situation,” he added, and Sasha didn’t seem to care at all.
If only there were a way to kill her and the madman at once.’
If only there were a way to get rid of all our problems at the same time.
But we don’t have enough time to figure any of that out yet.
Sasha isn’t going to stay here just so we can kill her once whatever is protecting her is gone.
She plans to run away from here the first chance she gets.
Because of the barrier she has created around her, we can’t even capture her.
This shield of hers will be a massive problem for us.
I watched as Sasha suddenly smiled as she looked at me.
“I hate it break it to you. But I bet that spell of yours only works on the evil spirit,” she said with a

“Yes, that is exactly what the madman is. He is an evil spirit,” I pointed out, and she chuckled and
then shook her head.
“You are right, but didn’t Mom and Alpha King Howard tell you the story?” she asked me, and I
frowned.
I know the story, but did I miss something from the story?
“An evil spirit isn’t a soul, it’s the remnants of an angry soul,” she pointed out, and I looked at her,
confused.
I know that much, then why is she telling me all of this?
When a witch dies with a grudge, their soul leaves remnants of their grudge.
“And people always said that you were the smart one in the family. Have you never wondered? Evil spirits are always summoned,” she pointed out, and I frowned as I looked at her.
“The person who always summons the evil spirit, do you know who it is?” I asked her and she chuckled, shaking her head.
“You are so narrow-minded, little sister. I just wanted to tell you that this plan of yours wouldn’t work out. I will be leaving tomorrow, and soon everyone you love will die as well,” she added and
then walked off.
I looked at Dante, who was just as confused as I was.
We sat down to try and figure out if we can find a solution to all of this.
Addison walked in, and her eyes landed on both of us.
“Isn’t this love triangle over already? Is Sasha still giving you trouble?” she asked us.
I looked at her, and that’s when it clicked to me.
The love triangle, this whole time, we were looking at it like it was some love story between me
and Dante.
But it’s more than that; it was a love triangle between me, Dante, and the madman.
An evil spirit isn’t a soul; that is what Sasha pointed out.
Now think about it, this means that just like me and Dante, the madman has also been
reincarnated.
In all those lives, someone has always been summoning the evil spirit.

In all those lives, someone was smart enough to rewrite the stories and make themselves the
hero.
And since we can’t kill the evil spirit of the madman using my sister, it can only mean one thing.
The evil spirit has been reunited with its original owner.
This will make it even harder to not only kill him but to detect him as well.
What the hell is going on now?
What do we do now if this is the case?
