© Chapter 22 Last Thing

“The Director of the hospital is Felix’s mother,” he said as we walked in.

“Dr Jones,” he said the moment the door opened.

“Piers,” she said not paying any attention to him.

“Good afternoon Dr Jones,” I said as well and she looked up and her eyes landed on me.

“You must be Jade,” she said and I nodded at this.

“Gosh, you are as beautiful as the rumors say,” she said and then got off the chair.

“The hospital you worked at, everyone spoke highly of you,” she said and I smiled at this.

“You must be very good at your job. I can’t wait to start working together,” she said and I nodded.

“You can leave us alone, I will take it from here,” she said looking at Piers who nodded.

She introduced me to everyone and then gave me a tour and my uniform as well. I spent the entire day taking care of werewolves and their wounds.

How can people can injured so much in one day?

They dislocate their bones and come to the hospital with bite marks.

Other than that, there aren’t that many people that come in.

My focus was taking care of those who were so injured that they almost died.

Some lose their ability to heal and their injuries are too serious.

From what I am told, it happens when someone is injured so much that their wolf is weakened and can only keep them alive but can’t heal them.

“Come on, let us put you in the group chat,” Anne said as we were finishing up.

“I would love that,” I said and walked into the shower.

The hospital is that fancy, the lockers have showers and bathtubs and a sauna.

I got changed and looked at the time, it was almost 7 pm and I was already drained.

“Let’s walk together,” Dr Jones said and I nodded.

The walk to the pack mansion is about 20 minutes.

From what I saw, most people here walk and hardly use their cars because their roads are

I mean, if I could cover a 20 minute distance in less than 5 minutes then i wouldn’t use a car.

I guess they usually use their super speed to get to where they want to go.

“Well, how is our pack treating you?” she asked me and I just shrugged.

“Everyone had been nice and welcoming,” I said and she nodded.

“Happy to hear that,” she said and I could tell she had something else to say.

“You seem like a really good girl, are you sure that any of this is a good idea?” she asked me and I sighed.

“Not really, but if I don’t do this then I become a rouge. And from what I heard, my sister’s marriage ends,” I said and she frowned.

“Yes, already people were skeptical about having a witch for a Luna,” she said and I looked at

her.

“I am merely telling you the truth, such things are never as easy as we would like them to be,” she said and I looked at her confused.

“This deal you made, it’s like you forgot that you are human and so is Dante. s*x is quiet an intimate and intense thing. What if one of you falls in love?” she asked me and I sighed.

“That is not possible, he is my sister’s mate and he loves my sister. I could never do anything to harm my sister,” I said and she chuckled.

“Love doesn’t care, people have fallen in love with their best friends, they have fallen in love with their brother-in-laws. People have fallen in love with their friend’s fathers and their enemies,” she said and I frowned at this.

“Why are you telling me all this?” I asked her and she just sighed.

“Because I want you to be prepared for anything,” she answered and I nodded.

It’s not going to happen to me or Alpha Dante.

He loves my sister and so do I, the last thing I want is to hurt her.

I need to make sure that I get pregnant as soon as possible.

“This is my stop,” she said as she stopped in front of a house that wasn’t far away from the pack mansion.

* Chapter 22 Last Thing

“Okay, have a good night,” I said and she nodded.

I got to the pack mansion and as I walked in all eyes turned to me.

“You are back, so how was your first day?” Tia asked me as she ran to my side.

“It was okay,” I said and then went to my seat.

“You are just in time for dinner,” Mrs Odell said and I everyone was still looking at me.

“Come on, it was your first day at work. It wasn’t just okay,” Sasha said and I sighed.

“It was different, I am not used to treating supernatural beings,” I said.

“You will get the hang of it,” Alpha Dante said and I nodded.

“Yes you will, it took me some time as well to settle in as well,” Sasha said.

My older sister is a teacher, she had always been good with kids.

We had dinner and I was honestly tired as hell.

The pain from the spell in the morning might be gone but the fatigue is still there.

After dinner, I went straight to my room and threw myself on the bed.

I frowned when I heard the shower running and my eyes widened.

Did I leave the shower on?

I quickly ran to the bathroom and froze when I saw Alpha Dante taking a shower.

I quickly turned around and then ran out of the bathroom.

I just saw a naked man for the first time in my life.

I mean I have seen abs and all that but this is my actual first time seeing a naked man.

Is he supposed to look that glorious?

Wait, no, I can’t be thinking about it like that.

It should feel wrong, I walked in on him in the shower so I saw him naked without his permission.

Not only that, but the man is my brother-in-law but he is also my husband.

Wait, no Jade you can’t be thinking like that.
