Chapter 28: Scent

Dante’s pov

I walked back to my office and sat down to process everything.

Why am I so surprised about all of this?

I mean they are people older than Jade who haven’t had s*x.

Why am I also happy that I was her first kiss?

What am I?

I am not a teenage boy but a grown man.

The door opened and Piers walked in with a smile.

“I was sent by your wife and her friend,” he said and I gestured that he talks.

“They are asking for permission to go to the club tonight,” he said and I frowned.

My wife is asking me to go to the club so she can hook up with some stranger.

“Okay, I don’t have a problem with that,” I said and he nodded and walked out.

Onyx has already made his intentions clear and I know my wolf. If I do anything to anger him then

he will kill Jade for sure.

I got my wolf when I was 16 years old which is 2 years earlier than anyone.

He had always been calm, but, every time, when I angered him I would regret it.

He is my wolf but even I can’t control him when he is angry.

Not only that, but he always keeps his word and doesn’t make idle threats.

This is what scares me about him, the way he can disregard how I feel and do what he wants.

He doesn’t care about pleasing me, he has a will of his own.

With werewolves, their wolves usually follow the will of their human.

But not Onyx, I think it has something to do with his abilities and the fact that he is strong.

I should let Jade live her life and let her do this.

“Good, I can read your thoughts,” Onyx said.

“I know that, but I can’t control what I think,” I said and he chuckled.

he said and I sighed.

“Then what do I do?” I asked him.

“Get rid of whatever feelings you have for her. Or I will do you the favour and get rid of her,” he said

and then broke the link.

I sighed as I tried to go back to work but I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

I could be the first and last man to ever see her naked.

I could be the first and last man she has ever kissed.

But if I let her go to that club tonight then some random guy will see her.

He will see how beautiful and sexy she is, he will get to hear her moan.

He will get to have her legs wrapped around him and he will get to be her first.

No Dante, you heard what Onyx said and he is dead serious and you know that.

I spent the rest of the day working and managed to get rid of Jade’s thoughts.

“I am glad to have you in our bedroom, even if it’s just for a night,” Sasha said as she walked in.

“You and my mother are the ones who wanted this,” I said and she wrapped her hands around me.

I did the same and looked at her, my beautiful mate.

“Can I ask you something? I feel weird about asking this but I have to,” she said and I nodded.

“You and Jade, have you slept together yet?” she asked me and I shook my head.

“I can’t do it,” I answered and watched as she looked at me confused.

“Why not?” she asked me and I just sighed.

How do I tell my mate about the situation I am in?

Jade, without even trying has turned me into a liar.

I know I am not technically not lying but I am also not telling the truth.

“Can we just do something like insemination?” I asked her and she smiled and shook her head.

“Our families are very traditional, they believe that the child needs to be conceived the traditional way,” she said and I sighed at this.

“Ow Jade,” Sasha suddenly said looking behind me.

Jade and her friend were both standing there looking at us.

f**k, I have heightened hearing and scent and I couldn’t even pick up her scent.

I frowned when I realized what happened, my wolf deliberately took away my senses.

Since I am only human, I am nothing without my wolf and Onyx usually hears and picks something

before I do.

He can prevent me from catching a certain scent since those are his powers.

I am surprised that he even allowed me to take away Jade’s pain with the way he is behaving.

He did it on purpose so that I don’t hear her coming and she probably heard everything.

I looked at Jade and her eyes didn’t betray anything.

My eyes landed on the makeup and the clothes she was wearing.

She was wearing a simple black dress and some black heels.

The dress hugged her body perfectly but it was almost above the knees.

“I am sorry to disturb, I came to say goodbye to both of you. And thank you for the driver and the bodyguard,” she said and I nodded.

“You look beautiful,” Sasha said to her sister who smiled back.

“Thank you, Jade said, and then they turned to walk away.

“I am going to take a bath, do you want to join me?” Sasha asked me and I shook my head.

“You know that I prefer taking a shower,” I said and she smirked at this.

I watched as she took off her clothes and then winked at me

“You know where to find me if you change your mind,” she said and then walked off.

I walked to Jade’s room to get some paperwork I left there.

“Should I bend over so you can tell me if you see anything?” I heard Jade ask.

“It’s beautiful, you are right. Wearing this, I don’t only look sexy but I feel it,” she added.

I looked around and her friend wasn’t in the room.

I walked towards her as she was busy adjusting her dress.

What the hell is she wearing?

Is this even called a dress?

I stood behind her and heard her giggle a bit.

“Okay, tell me if you can see anything,” she said and then I watched as she bent over.

“Alpha Dante,” she said and then looked around the room.

I watched as her eyes widened when she realized that she was talking to me the whole time.

“Yes, I can see everything when you bend over,” I said and she just nodded.

“Okay, thank you for the feedback,” she said and turned to leave.

I held her hand and pulled her towards me.

“You are not going out dressed like that,” I said and she looked at me confused but then nodded.

“I should wear matching heels. Silver and black don’t go along,” she said and I frowned.

“No, I am talking about that dress or little fabric you have on,” I said and she frowned.

“I like it, and because I like it I am wearing it,” she said and I scoffed.

“If you don’t take it off then I will tear it off your body,” I said and she then smiled.

“Why? Why should I take it off?” she asked me and I sighed.

“Because when you bend over I can see your ass,” I answered a little annoyed.

“Okay, you can go downstairs and I will take off the dress and wear what I wore earlier,” she said

and I nodded.

Jade seems headstrong so I thought that she would put on a fight.

I went downstairs and everyone was at the table for dinner.

I frowned when Jade came down the stairs wearing the same dress I told her not to wear. “Look at you, you are killing it,” her friend said as Jade was walking down the stairs.

“Damn, you are really hot,” Piers said and I could see the lust in his eyes as he said so. He wasn’t the only one, almost every male in this room was busy gawking at her.

“I wish I was going with you,” Tia said and she sighed.

“Let’s go,” Addison said dragging Jade way outside.

“You haven’t touched your food, is everything okay?” My mom asked me and I nodded.

“I am just not hungry,” I answered her

Felix walked in but he seemed confused and was looking around.

“That scent, where is it coming from?” he asked and we all looked at him.

“Scent, what scent?” Piers asked and Felix looked around.

“That sweet scent,” Felix answered, and then his eyes widened.

“My mate was here, who came here that I don’t know?” he asked us.

“Addison, Jade’s friend came here today,” Tia answered him.
