Jade’s pov

I opened my eyes and my head felt heavy.

I should really stop drinking to drown all pain, because it’s hurting me.

I looked around the room and Alpha Dante wasn’t there at all.

I sighed and then took a bath before getting ready for the day.

“You two are coming from the same room,” Ellie pointed out.

Ellie is Pier’s younger sibling and has a twin brother I think with somewhat a similar name.

I looked at Sasha and she had this massive grin on her face as they were walking down together.

I just sat down and poured myself a glass of juice.

“You should really cut down on the drinking. You are trying to conceive and it’s not good for your

health,” Mrs Odell said and I didn’t answer.

“Not to forget that Dante has a heightened sense of smell. The poor guy couldn’t sleep properly in your room because of the smell of alcohol,” Sasha said and patted her mate’s shoulder.

“And you should really start looking after yourself Jade,” she added. “So, do you think that Felix and his mate have already mated?” Nick asked.

“Nick, that isn’t a question that a 16 year old should be asking,” his mother said and Nick frowned

at this.

“Do you think they have mated?” Alec asked with a smirk.

His mother glared at him and he just shrugged with a smile.

“I am not 16,” he said with a chuckle.

“Yes, I think they have definitely mated,” Tia said to her brothers.

“I don’t think so,” I said out loud and all eyes landed on me.

Everyone seemed surprised that I said something.

“What makes you think that?” Nick asked me and I just shrugged.

“I have known Addison since we were infants. She wouldn’t do it,” I answered and they chuckled.

“You don’t know the mate bond, it makes anyone lose their senses,” Tia retorted and I nodded.

“Do you want to join in on the bet?” Ellie asked and Olivia shook her head.

“No, I am sure that they are mated. Why would they wait?” Olivia asked sipping on her juice.

“I think that they are not mated. Actually, I think that Addison is going to reject Felix before the end

of the day today,” I added.

I watched as they all looked at me as if I just cursed their entire bloodline.

“How could you say that?” Sasha asked me and I just shrugged.

“It is the truth, chances are that those two will never be together,” I added.

“Enough Jade, you shouldn’t say such things,” Mrs Odell said and I nodded.

“Fine, you can shut me up if you want. But the truth is the truth,” I said and then continued eating

my toast.

The couple walked downstairs and Addison looked at me with a smile.

“They are not mated,” Ellie pointed out and I looked at Olivia and I saw how relieved she was about

all of this.

“Morning,” Felix said as he pulled out a chair for her,

I watched how Addison’s eyes never left mine and I could see it in her eyes.

She was debating on what she should do and was looking for answers in my eyes.

“Excuse me, I forgot that there is something I need to do,” Olivia suddenly got up and then left the

“What is your relationship with that girl?” Addison asked looking at Felix.

“What girl? Olivia?” Felix asked her and Addison nodded at this.

“Nothing,” he answered and she looked at him as if telling him she didn’t believe him.

“She was someone I used to sleep with on occasion,” he answered and Addison scoffed.

“And yet you said you don’t have a relationship with her,” she retorted and I watched how Felix

looked around the room.

It was as if he was asking for help.

“She was nothing but a f**k buddy,” he answered and I winced at his choice of words.

Using such a word in front of Addison is probably a really bad move.

“Did I say at the end of the day? I think in the next 5 minutes,” I said and everyone looked at me and I just shrugged.

“f**k buddy? How long have you known her?” she asked him and he sighed.

“I don’t know, since we were young,” Felix answered.

“It’s really nothing, it was nothing but just s*x while we both were waiting for our mates. I found you now, trust me, I won’t touch or let alone think of another woman. You are perfect for me,” Felix

added.

“Yes Addison, werewolves do such things. We are still animals and need to get rid of certain edges. But it was nothing but s*x. A lot of werewolves have f**k buddies,” Piers said and I found myself laughing at this.

They think they are helping but are just making things worse.

“Yes, the only person that matters is you. You are my mate, my future,” Felix said begging her with

his eyes.

“Really? You haven’t even known me for 24 hours yet. Why should I believe anything you say?”

Addison asked him.

“I watched as you degraded a relationship with someone you have known almost all your life. Didn’t you see her? She was hurting but you didn’t even care at all, Addison pointed.

“Do you think this is normal? This obsession with someone you just met just because a voice in your head told you that they are your soulmate,” Addison added.

“You knew?” Felix also asked me and I nodded.

“But how did you know? Did she talk to you about it last night?” Sasha asked me and I shook my

head.

“Then how on earth could you have known?” Felix asked glaring at me.

“Because I know my best friend very well and I have been around for a long time,” I answered.

“What are you trying to say?” Piers asked a little annoyed.

“That not everyone is like you. People still have common sense out there and think with their hearts,” I answered.

“How can you make promises of eternal love to someone you just met? How can she trust you that you will keep your promise? Not only that, but you also disregarded another person’s feelings,” I

said and then shook my head.

“Maybe you don’t know this. But for some people, s*x isn’t just to get rid of their animal edges. It’s a way they bond with one another and show each other love,” I explained and then shook my head.

“Your mate bond, you think it’s a blessing but to the rest of the world it is nothing but a curse,” I

added.
