Jade’s pov

“I can dry myself,” I said to Dante who smiled.

“I know, but let me do it for you,” he said with a towel in hand.

I am glad that he covered himself up with a towel because none of this is good for my health.

I stood there as he dried my body with a towel and he seemed more than happy to do so.

“I thought you hated taking a bath, don’t you prefer showers?” I asked him and he thought about it.

“I think I might like it a little,” he answered and then winked.

He covered me with a dry towel, pulled me towards him, and hugged me.

He then started drying my hair and I looked up at him.

Why is he so perfect?

His gray eyes landed on mine and he smiled a bit.

“Why do you keep staring at me?” he asked me and I just shrugged.

“You are really handsome,” I said and he chuckled a bit at this.

“Thank you,” he said a little amused by what I said.

He looks even more handsome when he smiles.

I am sure the moon goddess took her precious time when she was creating him.

This man was born to break hearts.

“Just kiss me already,” he said with a smile and I tiptoed to kiss him.

When we pulled away I realized that maybe one of those hearts is mine.

One of the hearts he is meant to break is mine.

We walked to the walk-in closet and as I was about to reach out for my PJs Dante held out his

shirt.

“Wear this,” he said and I nodded and took his shirt!

I got dressed and turned around and he was already dressed.

I don’t think I can get used to seeing him naked at all.

And it surprises me how he seems confident even when naked,

“What are you thinking about?” Dante asked me and I just smiled.

“Nothing,” I said, we got back to the room and I climbed the bed.

Dante looked at the couch and then at the bed and he smiled as he climbed the bed as well.

He pulled me into his bear hug and I let myself melt into his arms.

I woke up in the middle of the night because I was so thirsty.

I looked around the room and there was no water at all.

“No,” Dante said as I tried to get out of his hold.

“I just need some water, I will be back before you know it,” I said and he shook his head.

I kissed his forehead and watched how he smiled at this.

He pouted his lips to show that I should kiss him there instead.

I perked his lips and he loosened his hold and I got out and headed downstairs.

“I know, I love you too. But there are a few things I need to sort out first,” I heard a voice say.

I continued walking and the moment I walked into the kitchen she stopped talking.

“I just need a bottle of water,” I said to Tia and decided to take two instead.

As I was walking out she suddenly spoke up.

“I found my mate,” she blurted out and I turned around to look at her.

“That is good for you,” I said but noticed that she didn’t seem happy.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her and she sighed.

“He is human,” she stated and I nodded.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her again because I didn’t understand what the problem was.

anxious.

“Why would he? Because your mate is human? Don’t you werewolves preach about the mate bond all the time? Why would he care about what your mate is?” I asked her.

She sighed and then walked towards me and held my hand.

“Will you talk to him for me,” she said and I looked at her confused.

“Why me?” I asked her.

“Because you are the only one in this place that can say whatever you want and get away with it. One time you once called him a dimwit,” she pointed out.

“If someone else had said that, there would have been severe consequences,” she added and I

looked at her confused.

She is talking like Dante is this scary person who doesn’t listen to reason.

“He is your brother. If you explain to him that you love this man. Then I am sure that he will understand,” I said to her.

“Will you back me up when I tell him?” she asked me and I nodded.

“I will try my best,” I assured her and she smiled and hugged me.

“He will definitely agree now,” she said and walked off seeming more positive.

Why was she so positive that he would agree if I did it?

I walked back to my room and the moment I climbed on the bed Dante opened his arms for me.

I quickly got comfortable in his arms and fell asleep immediately.

I woke up the next morning, it was already 9 am.

I opened my eyes and found myself in Dante’s arms.

He is also still sleeping so late?

There was a knock on the door and Dante opened his eyes.

“Come on, breakfast is ready,” Mrs Odell said and Dante groaned.

“Can we have it later Mom?” he asked her.

“Those are not the rules of this house, you have ten minutes to come downstairs,” she said and

“Let’s get ready,” I said trying to get off bed but Dante pulled me even closer.

“Let her get angry if she wants to,” he said and I chuckled at this.

“It’s not that, I will be late for work as well,” I said and he sighed.

“Actually, come to think of it. I think I have a job you would be qualified for,” he said and I looked at

him intrigued.

“What kind of job?” I asked him and he smiled.

“My Personal assistant,” he answered and I scoffed at this.

I got off the bed and headed to the bathroom.

He joined me shortly and hugged me from behind as I was brushing my teeth.

“Why?” I asked him and he just sighed.

“You will be with me all day long. We can take a few minute breaks and do things,” he said

suggestively.

“Don’t you have businesses to run?” I asked him and he just sighed.

“Trust me, I would be even more productive if you were there. You occupy all my thoughts anyway,”

he said and I froze at his confession.

“If you are near me, then I won’t have to wonder what you are thinking and who you are with,” he

explained.

“That Andrew, do you work closely with him?” he asked me and I chuckled at this.

“Yes,” I answered and he frowned at this.

“I love my job, we sleep in the same room and now on the same bed. What more could you want?” I

asked him.

“I don’t know, but sometimes I feel like absorbing you into my skin. Putting you in my pocket so I can go everywhere with you,” he explained and I chuckled at this.

“That doesn’t sound creepy at all,” I retorted.

He chuckled and then started kissing my neck.

“Come on, we need to get ready,” I said and he sighed and let me go.

We got ready for the day and went downstairs for breakfast.

“This isn’t like you, you always wake up early,” Addison said and I glared at her.

“I was tired, okay,” I retorted and she winked at me.

Sasha.

She smiled at this but didn’t seem really happy.

“I missed the games didn’t I?” he asked Sasha who nodded.

“But it’s okay, I understand that you are busy. There is always next time,” she said and I smiled.

That’s so like her, she doesn’t get angry and is always understanding.

I bet inside she is fuming with rage but won’t say it because she doesn’t want to offend him.

“Brother, there is something I want to tell you,” Tia blurted out.

“Go on,” Dante encouraged and she looked at me and I nodded.

“I found my mate, but he is human,” she blurted out as fast as she could.

“You know what to do,” Dante said and he was suddenly serious.

“But brother, I love him,” Tia tried to explain and he sighed.

“He is human, reject him,” Dante said firmly and I looked at him confused.

“Aren’t you going to even listen to what she has to say?” I asked him and he sighed.

“It doesn’t matter what else she has to say, he is human and because of that she has to reject him,”

he answered.

“That’s madness, who are you to decide that for her?” I asked him and he sighed.

“I am her brother and Alpha. Stay out of this Jade, this is my family matter,” he added furiously.
