Chapter 54: Happy
Dante’s pov
“Alpha, he is here,” Felix said through the mind link.
I looked at Jade who was busy looking at the ring on her finger.
“He is here, are you done with work?” I asked her and she nodded.
“Shall we go together then?” I asked and she nodded.
I looked at her, she seemed to be deep in thought.

We walked back to the pack house and I looked at the human who would be marrying my sister.
He isn’t much to look at, he is very scrawny and skinny.
He looks like a little wind would blow him away.
“Jade,” he said looking at my wife who looked up and smiled.
“Elvis,” she said with an amused smile.
“What are you doing here?” she asked him and he just shrugged.
“Here to meet my Fiance’s family,” he answered and I watched as Jade seemed shocked.
“Wait, you two know each other?” I asked them and they both nodded.
“He is like the best chef in the world,” Jade answer
with a smile.
“And she is the best customer in the world. Loves everything cook for her,” he said with a smile.
I looked at the guy, he genuinely looks somewhat familiar.
“You look beautiful, I haven’t seen you in weeks. What are you doing here?” he asked her.
“Jade is my wife,” I answered him as I held her hand.
“No, that’s not possible. You are Dante, right? I have seen your wife, she does have a resemblance
to Jade but isn’t Jade. That’s her,” he said pointing at Sasha.
“Honey, that’s part of the long story I told you about/ Tia said and the guy nodded.
“By the way, this is Elvis Reay,” Tia introduced her so-called mate to me.<
I don’t like that he knows Jade or the fact that she seems to be fond of him.
Not only that, but he had the guts to call her beautiful.

I mean it is true that she is but how dare he compliment her? We all sat down and Tia took a deep
breath before she started telling him everything.
When she was done he started laughing at this.
When he noticed that no one was laughing he frowned at this.
“That’s not possible, you are telling me that the world I have lived in all my life has been a lie?” she
asked.
“Not technically a lie, you just have had a different experience,” Jade answered him.
“You are a witch, aren’t witches supposed to be scary and evil?” he asked Jade.
“You should see her when she is just waking up,” Addison answered with a chuckle.
“Is that why you thought your brother wouldn’t agree to let us get married?” he asked Tia and she
nodded.
“It’s because I didn’t think you would be capable of protecting my sister. And it appears that I was
right,” I responded.
“Brother, you promised that you would be nice,” Tia said and then looked at Jade.
“Sister-in-law, please talk to him,” she said and I looked at Jade.
She just glared at me for a second and I raised my hands in surrender.
“Okay, but what does that have to do with Jade and your married brother getting married?” he
asked her.
Tia started explaining everything and I watched as his mouth dropped.
“What? Can’t you just leave them? Why would you decide to do such a thing? Marrying your sister’s
soulmate?” he asked Jade.
“It’s mate,” Tia said but the guy just ignored her and looked at Jade.
“Why Jade?” he asked her and I watched how she looked down.
“Because if I don’t then I will die,” she answered him.
“What? Death, is that what you are scared of? The Jade I know was fearless, she was happy and full of life. Look at you now,” he said and shook his head.
“Put an end to this madness, didn’t I tell you that you regret the life you didn’t live? Is this living Jade?” he asked her.
I watched as Jade looked down as if she was ashamed.

“You don’t understand,” she tried to defend herself.
“And I don’t want to, end this facade right now and go back to living,” he said.

“And who the hell do you think you are? You can’t come here and tell her what to do,” Sasha said.
“And yet you can because it benefits you right? He loves you and is bonded to you. You are just fine as long as you get what you want. How selfish can you be?” he asked her.
“Elvis, let me explain,” Tia said and he shook his head.
“No, you weren’t there when I first met Jade. You don’t understand what I mean,” he said firmly.
He is skinny and I could break him like a twig but seems to be headstrong and also firm.
“She couldn’t eat, she told me that food tasted like sand in her mouth. She was miserable, now I
understand why,” he said.
“I love you Tia, but if your family are people who are capable of harming other people for their own benefit. Then I want nothing to do with them,” he said and got up.
He came and stood in front of Jade and then took her hand.
“Let’s end this madness,” he said and Jade looked down.
“If I go with you, I will die, Elvis,” she said and looked up. I noticed that she had tears in her eyes and
he sighed.
“So what? I will cook for you every day. I will make sure you are well fed, you will die that is true. But you might die any time. Death is uncertain, what if you die while still living in these miserable conditions? What if you never get pregnant or you die during childbirth?” he asked her.
“Get the f**k up Jade, we are leaving,” he said pulling her up.
I stopped his hand and he looked at me and I could tell he was furious.
He genuinely cares about her, and not in a romantic light.
He cares about her the same way I love and care about Tia.
I would also never allow my sister to get into an arrangement that Jade is in.
“Can we talk privately?” I asked him and he frowned and looked at Tia who nodded.
He let go of Jade’s hand and then I led him to my
office.
“She called you an Alpha, how could you let such an injustice happen?” he asked me.
“You are right, I did let an injustice happen. But I won’t let him happen again,” I said and he frowned.

“I care about Jade a lot. I promise that I won’t let anything bad happen to her, I will protect her with my life,” I said.
“Protection isn’t the only important thing. You just said that I can’t protect your sister which is probably true. But I can give her something, I can give her love and happiness. Can you do that for Jade?” he asked me and I couldn’t answer.
“You can’t,” he said and got up to leave.
“I know that she loves ice cream, especially caramel flavor. I know that every time she eats vegetables she frowns. I know she loves flowers, I know that she loves nursing. And I also know
that she is unhappy at this moment,” I said.
“But I do know that I will do anything to make her happy. Just give me a chance to prove it,” I
added.
How did things change so fast?
He was supposed to be the one begging me to be with my sister but here I am begging him to let
me be with my wife.
I supposed I shouldn’t have judged a book by its cover.
I saw the effect he had on Jade, I saw how she showed emotions for once.
The last time she did so was when she was at her home.
He got her to open up in a matter of seconds.
“Tia spoke highly of you, that is why I was disappointed and angry about this. You are hurting someone I care about and I don’t like it,” he said and then sighed.
“But I also want Jade to have a long life. If during her time here, you promise to make her happy. Then I will trust Tia’s judgment and take your word for it,” he added.
“Thank you,” I said and I found myself in awe of the guy.
Had he been a werewolf, then he would have surely been an Alpha kind.
But now that has left me with an important question.
Can I make Jade happy?
Will she be happy with me?
